Talk:Dungeon Fever

From A KoL Wiki
  • This adventure is reminiscent of the iconic Dance Dance Revolution arcade game.

This is a huge - HUGE - stretch, and is much more reminiscent of 70's discos. I vote for the removal of this line. --Narpas 23:53, 5 Aug 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

  • Sign your posts. It can reference more than one thing. DRR arcade has a grid of blinking squares, you have to dance without missing a beat, hitting [them] in sequence. Doesn't seem like that far of a stretch to me. --JRSiebz 02:53, 24 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • Sorry about not signing. It still seems like a stretch to me, though, as a) it seems to be much more reminiscent of a disco, b) if a DDR reference was in store, Jick could have done quite a bit more with it, and c) the daily dungeons was implimented early on in the game, and it was only a few months ago that Jick and Skully picked up DDR (They talked about it on the J&S show). Jick didn't really get into it, and I think Skully doesn't do it much either.

Oh! One other thing I just remembered. It doesn't really help the case, as I'm not about to go looking for this, but one of the radio shows had a question "Are there any DDR references in the game", and Skully said that he had added one with the BFG and the Maypole, but there wasn't any other. This could be that Jick didn't think of the dungeons at the time, but I kinda doubt that.

This one is a mix of the 70's disco floor with the tile floor sections from Dragon's Lair. The DDR reference is weak at best, but as DDR has popularized computer games with dancing in them it certainly deserves a nod. --Greg1104 16:10, 24 May 2006 (CDT)
