Talk:Dungeon Fist!

From A KoL Wiki

"I'll chop your head off!" you shout at the grunt. And then you do.

You quickly turn to face another grunt as he runs up to attack you.

He hits you in the head with his club. Look! Stars! Tell Raoul you're ready for your close-up.

"I'll chop your head off!" is clearly a reference to the viral webcomic, AxeCop. --Lemon-claw 00:05, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

  • The "look, stars!", raoul, etc, is a reference to Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Raoul was the director in the Roger/Baby Herman cartoons. Roger kept seeing birds instead of stars when clonked. When Judge Doom drops a load of bricks on him, he finally sees stars, and says "Look, stars! I'm ready for my close-up, Raoul..." --Jimfromtx 05:10, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

So what do the potions do, anyways? From the optimal path thing below, I'm guessing the blue potion is some sort of bomb, but what about the strength/magic potions? Are they just for score? --Jimfromtx 22:00, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Scoring

Here's the scoring:

REMAINING HEALTH X5: 900 MONSTERS KILLED X5: 4500 POTIONS FOUND X250: 250 KEYS FOUND X250: 500 FOOD SHOT X-500: -500 TREASURES ACQUIRED X2500: 5000 EXIT BONUS: 5000 As far as I know, its not possible to eat food.--Toffile 01:17, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

You will shoot the first one, but not the second -- see the little map that I made at: KOL Spading FOrum--there is a little map. --Boccolotti 02:22, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

  • Here's a better version of the map.--Toffile 03:01, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
  • Interesting. I had the same map, but different monsters. ah, just understood that you called pink thug grunts "orcs" and hellhound demons "pinkies" in that image. Everything is correct then, no randomizations. --Hrag 17:02, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

DUNGEON CLEARED BONUS: 5000 (I believe I defeated all the critters in there to earn this). 15750 points->19 tickets --TimRem 05:40, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Optimal Path

Ok, think I've got it figured. Path is follows: Melee power potion, Death (letting him drain you), keys and -food, treasure, then potion, magic up potion, use potion on ghosts, get food, exit.. Now if they'll just stop killing me...--AltyMcAltAlt 09:53, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Death draining you makes you starve much harder -> You die faster. Or i might be wrong. --Hrag 16:42, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
Yes, you are. Death doesn't take away as much health as the ghosts do.. but I was wrong too. Optimal path is as follows:

Start, go to fight power potion, north to get bomb potion, north to get magic power potion, east to shoot food, then south to *fight* Death - do not use the potion!, east to kill demons, collect key, then south for ghosts - use the potion on them!, and collect food, then treasure, then head to exit.

You must do the path *exactly* optimally, with no mis-steps, as you will be a hair's breadth from dying when you encounter the ghosts. Final optimal score: 23800 - 30 tix. --AltyMcAltAlt 09:13, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

There seems to be a anomaly in the walkthrough, at step 11 (East, get key). There's no key, just an option to fight ghosts, use potion. I've asked around and at least one other person has encountered this. I died a little ways after fighting Death, and only got 11 tickets. Has anyone else encountered this? KeltiTheDiscoBandit 15:01, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

  • Yeah, that's wrong. I've fixed it. You're supposed to potion the third set of ghosts, otherwise you won't have enough health to win.--Toffile 15:31, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
    • There is a key there; it's mentioned in the text if you fail to get the food. Perhaps it's either/or, but how does the second door get unlocked then? --Fig bucket 16:16, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
      • The first key is guarded by the demons just east of Death. The second is guarded by the ghosts a few squares south in the second food room. That particular step that's in question was the one where you fight the ghosts after collecting the magic upgrade potion.--Toffile 16:20, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Here is a way to recover if you let your mind slip while following the steps. --Weregoose 09:46, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

i wasted my life

  • could you beat the arcade game? i played for 19 hours once (admittedly not very well) and you just keep getting more of the same levels. --Evilkolbot 13:08, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
    • If you're so low on life maybe you should get some food to restore it ;) --Toffile 15:05, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Probably a silly question...

The fancy color graphic map I just saw... I guess that's a mafia feature? --Notsupposedtobehere (talk) 03:32, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

  • Well, I've never seen the fancy color graphic map, so probably. How hard is it for you to try again without mafia? --Club (#66669) (Talk) 06:06, 15 December 2013 (UTC)
