Talk:Either Ore

"This is a parody of Saturday Night Live's Celebrity Jeopardy sketches which are parodies of the television game show Jeopardy!"
- Isn't Either/Or a better reference? Note the adventure title.--Dehstil (t|c) 19:33, 27 August 2006 (CDT)
- Definitely not. That text, especially with I <3 Boobs and all, is a clear, literal, direct reference to the SNL sketch. --Alpaca (T/C) 20:08, 27 August 2006 (CDT)
- Which could, in turn reference this. From the wikipedia article: "Munnery posed bizarre questions to which each contestant had to answer, with a placard, either one way or another. Those who answered 'correctly' to this question were deemed 'winners', and, as such, 'won' the right to remain anonymous." ressembles the adventure too and "I <3 Boobs" may possibly be from here too, maybe not. eh.--Dehstil (t|c) 20:19, 27 August 2006 (CDT)
- I suppose it could be a combination of the two, but the <3 Boobs thing is undisputably a reference to the SNL skit. Take a look here (bad link, best I could find). --Alpaca (T/C) 20:57, 27 August 2006 (CDT)
- From the Either/Or Wikipedia entry: "All of the contestants had to wear hoods and long gowns, to cover their identity." All three KoL contestants have unhidden faces and are behind Jeopardy! style podiums. Also, I've linked to a screenshot of the "I heart BOOBS" that this adventure refers to and the MC calls the game "Geo-Parody" (Jeopardy!). This adventure is an extremely clear Celebrity Jeopardy reference, period. Furthermore, the "Either Ore" part is not part of the new version of this adventure, "A Real Gem"--the fact that the title is expendable strongly suggests that the "Either Ore"/"Either/Or" connection is only coincidental. -Trazz 20:59, 27 August 2006 (CDT)
- You know, you could type it so that the title refers to the game show "Either/Or" and that the description refers to the SNL parody of Jeopardy, because we've had that before, you know. Title equals Either/Or, and Description equals Geo-Parody. "Either" that, "or" ramble on about how two parts of an item have to be the same. --Choja 00:25, 6 September 2006 (CDT)
- Ok, cool, but it doesn't go on A Real Gem I think.--Dehstil (t|c) 00:32, 6 September 2006 (CDT)

- Is it a 50/50 chance of getting either the A Real Gem or Either Ore when adventuring in the Mines with a clover? --Gymnosophist 23:20, 31 August 2006 (CDT)
