I've been insulting pirates for several dozen adventures (sorry, don't have exact numbers) with a giant pinky ring equipped, but I've gotten embarrassed every time. My guess would say it has no effect. Perhaps someone could verify for sure and make a note on the main page if this is the case?--jupider 01:34, 3 March 2008 (CST)

It probably can't stop it because it's a necessary side-effect of using the book (at least most of the time). Whether it can stop it from other combat sources, such as on the battlefield, is an interesting question though. What I'm getting at is that the embarassed effect in your case doesn't come from a monster attack, but from something else, and the pinky ring only works against status effects inflicted by monsters. Pity, too. It'd be a nice insurance policy against bad luck when trying to unlock the Oasis. --Flargen 01:47, 3 March 2008 (CST)
