Talk:Enraged Cow
Will anyone explain to me what the "detective skull" thing at the bottom means? I'm clueless here.
First, sign your posts.
Second, it means what it says. Detective skull.--Someone Else 08:33, 14 May 2006 (CDT)
A chart on the HCOXY boards shows that the cow's chance of appearing increases at higher levels sharply. Can someone confirm this? If true, then I'll bet this is a reference to the saying that 'cows can't go down stairs'.----~~
Have to Let the Cow KILL You?
Okay, this was my experience the last dozen or so adventures:
- Encounter cow, run away.
- Go to The Shore. Mistakenly take the wrong adventure (whoops) three times.
- Realize the correct adventure (Ski Resort), take that. No fence (stat gain instead).
- Get advised that it might be only guaranteed the immediate turn after the cow.
- Go back, encounter cow, run away.
- Try The Shore (Ski Resort) again. No fence (stat gain instead).
- Consider the unfortunate answer obvious.
- Go back, get killed by cow.
- Have the Sisters of Mercy massage me back to health.
- Go to The Shore (Ski Resort), get fence immediately.
I don't know whether I'm missing some piece of info here, or misinterpreting the data, or perhaps I'm thinking my second and third tries at The Shore were the Ski Resort when they weren't (although I'm almost positive, and the adventures were snow-related). But if this data is correct and my interpretation is correct: You need to let the bloody cow kill you before you can get the barbed-wire fence.
If this is indeed the case, could someone note this on the main page? Thank you. Kilyle 16:20, 23 November 2007 (CST)
- As far as I know, after you blow your one free shore item, getting a fence is just up to luck again. The fact that you got it after losing to the cow is probably coincidence, unless this can be repeated a few more times. --TechSmurf 20:40, 23 November 2007 (CST)
Okay, I want to see if I correctly understand what you are saying. The first time you encounter the cow, you trigger an auto-drop at The Shore for the next time you visit The Shore, but only if you choose the correct vacation spot, and only that first trip. If you do one of the other spots, you have wasted the auto-drop and must wait for a random drop instead. This has nothing to do with turns (you can waste turns in between the cow and The Shore, e.g. by resting). Is my understanding correct? Kilyle 03:53, 2 December 2007 (CST)
- Wait, is this how it works? I thought it was just the usual 30-turn thing to get a guaranteed drop, and not an "automatic after you visit the tower" thing. --Itsatrap 02:05, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
Gender Test for Cow
"St. Spooky Life, Maybe Emo gives your opponent a sullen glance, and sighs dramatically, rolling her eyes. Her feelings are hurt, causing 17 damage."
So, I got this when my spooky Gravy Fairy attacked the Cow, and it said her. Well, it is a her, isn't she? ДҖ--Finalheaven63talk 00:56, 26 May 2008 (CDT)
If the cow is a her why is one of its attack messages "He stampedes all over you." (according to this page) Either that message is not the actual message that appears in the game, or this page should denote the cows gender confusion --Ohnoanotherputz 07:36, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
erm... the spooky gravy fairy is sighing and rolling her eyes, not the cow. I've always assumed that the reference to 'Her' feelings being hurt was still referring to the fairy - She causes the damage by sulking or whatever. Having said that... Male cows don't have udders.
I'd hazard that the cow should be female and it's a typo in the attack message that never got fixed. The fourth hint also refers to the female-ness of the cow.--Denarius 08:28, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
The enemy has been fixed - I just encountered the cow and both the cow's description and both attacks have been fixed to say 'her' and 'she'. I let the cow maul me twice just to be sure. --Rii 22:42, 12 August 2011 (CEST)
