Talk:Evil Teddy Bear
The "at the cost of weight" part doesn't sound too clear.... can it lose weight when atacking, or is it less effective the heavier it gets? --We Be Legion 18:58, 4 December 2006 (CST)
safe to assume its like the regular teddy bear, and looses XP points ~russianspy1234
I just had one at 24 pounds (including its sewing kit + empathy, pith helmet & amphibian sympathy) and it made one attack of 250, but dropped all the way back to 16 pounds afterward.--LordValance 03:52, 5 December 2006 (CST)
I have one with 21 kills. It was at 24 pounds with sewing kit, empathy, linguini, sympathy. It does an attack for 18 damage, and the kills drop down to 4 kils (Minus of 18, plus 1 kill after the round ended) So i am going to guess that the number of damage = the kills it loses. i will test this and edit this soon. edit: taking it/all of it back. kills only count as kills from monsters.. it was just a big coincidence the math worked out. still testing....--Deranged Cat 06:40, 5 December 2006 (CST)
I believe the strength of this familiar to be the Ultimage Cage Match as mine seems to accel at this Event. Anybody else concur?--Esko 00:18, 6 December 2006 (CST)
Just some XP info...(not enough to really get going but the bear never attacked until lvl 24; now it's attacking at 23 *shrug*) after first attack I didn't see what the XP was at before the fight but he lost a pound. After the second attack it was at 24XP and went down to 13XP. third attack, 13 down to 2XP. The fourth time it was at 6 and went down to 20 (outta 25), so based on that very small amount of data I would say it decreases by 11XP, at least at 23-24lbs. --Devdogg 09:53, 6 December 2006 (CST)
ok, that can't be right b/c I was at 23lbs, 4XP above 22lbs and my bear attacked and went down to 17xp (out of 25) for a total of 12xp lost. damage was for 37dam. don't know if this helps others figure this out or not.--Devdogg 10:05, 6 December 2006 (CST)
Mine was at 117XP, attacked for (unkown; I wasn't watching close enough), fell back to 21XP, a few combats latter gave an attack for 94, fell back to 2XP. I don't think I'm gonna use him any more :)--John. 21:06, 11 December 2006 (CST)
I did a fight with my evil teddy bear starting at 27 pounds buffed weight (12 pounds unbuffed) and 157 XP. After the fight it was 25 pounds buffed/10 unbuffed, and 107 XP. I believe it only blocked 1 attack in the fight, although not totally sure. --Tiny Plastic Andalite (talk) 15:14, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
Shadow?
Does this work on the shadow? The other two teddy bear familiars don't.--Mjavabean 17:09, 8 December 2006 (CST)
References
Do you really think that Jick watches Code Lyoko? There doesn't even seem to be a vague resemblence.
I think the first line might be a reference to EarthBound, where you can use a teddy bear to absorb damage from enemy attacks. I could be wrong though. Anyone want to confirm or deny this? Usopp 16:15, 20 December 2006 (CST)
- The teddy bear has already been identified as such, so this would also be by association. Except for the evil part, of course. --Quietust (t|c) 16:21, 20 December 2006 (CST)
- no reference to teddy bears in the BOC song: coincidental title.
- turning your back in a game? humph. --Evilkolbot 12:02, 27 April 2007 (CDT)
cobain dougans
Because of Cobain's [killing the NS without the smurf], it seems apparent that the damage the ETB does is definitely linked to his number of kills. --sl1me 23:31, 15 February 2007 (CST)
- Later in that thread, Cobain stated that:
- Evil teddy blocks an attack and deals it back double in most instances. This is not true with the third form for some reason. If it were, that teddy would've attacked for over 100k in a single round. There seems to be a relative damage cap around 23-25k, or there are decreasing attack returns once blocked damage reaches a certain amount.
- So there you go. --Starwed 18:30, 16 February 2007 (CST)
- Yep, read that right after I posted my comment. :P sl1me 13:13, 18 February 2007 (CST)
Name?
Why do both this and the Teddy Bear page show "Unspecified Familiar Name" instead of the correct name just above the picture?--Ataradan 03:33, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- The templates are being updated. There are a lot of familiars to update. :) -- sulfur 03:43, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
Damage
I'm pretty sure the damage is 2%-3% of the monster's attack value. I might get around to this sometime or another, but for anyone else looking at it, that's where I'd start. --RoyalTonberry 19:26, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
