Has anyone noticed a limit on these? I've spent roughly 150-200 turns fighting for these things, with item drop +150% with equipment and buffs, and On The Trail cast on the right mariachi. In the first 50 turns, I got seven evil vihuelas. I have not gotten a single one since. --Brightbutt The Defenestrator 18:46, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

• I was able to get 15 without too much difficulty ( olfaction and ~+200% item drop). I don't know if that is the absolute limit, but one can definitely get 15 of these items.--Noskilz 23:30, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

• I fought 30 evil vihuela-playing mariachi (on the same day, first try during the ascension); The encounters were evenly spread across ~70 adventures in the Nemesis cave (no olfaction) - at least there was no difference between vihuela-players encountered during the first & second half of the trip.

The 1st 10 with ~+100 item drop: got 6 evil vihuelas
The 2nd 10 with ~+200 item drop: got 5 evil vihuelas
The 3rd 10 with ~+250 item drop: got 2 evil vihuelas
(pickpocketing as auto-attack was activated the whole time)
