Talk:Foie gras

From A KoL Wiki

As the Beaten Up from eating Foie gras stacks, it is possible to get at least 35 turns of Beaten Up (on the Feast of Boris with Stomach of Steel). I'm not sure if it also stacks with Beaten Up from other sources, but if so - it might be worthwile getting 45 turns of Beaten Up (10 from explosion-flavored chewing gum, then another 35 from Foie gras) to check if there is a Trophy for doing so.--The Safe 01:15, 30 November 2006 (CST)

For reference -- I ate one, got one adventure, and one turn of beaten up. No idea how much fullness it was. --Tapin 23:55, 15 June 2006 (CDT)

I would think something more along the lines of this is more informative without going into so much detail on force feeding:

  • Foie gras, fattened goose or duck liver, is a delicacy in French cuisine, and is often made into pâté de foie gras, among other things. The use of force feeding in the production of foie gras is often viewed by animal rights activists as being unusually cruel and has been banned in multiple countries.

It certainly seems like gavage is a terrible practise but I don't know that everyone wants to read about it here.--Veistran 18:14, 17 July 2006 (CDT)

Why Celine Dion? --Club (#66669) (Talk) 20:31, 7 March 2012 (CET)

  • If someone asks "what's worse than 'grotesquely and [painfully enlarging the] liver of a force-fed goose'", and got the answer "Hitler and Celine Dion", I would think the implication would be that Celine Dion evokes feelings that are on par with the Holocaust. Or, that her music (and maybe her as a person, I wouldn't know) is terrible.--Erich 21:12, 7 March 2012 (CET)
    • That's a reasonable answer, but I wondered if there was something more specific involved. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 22:15, 7 March 2012 (CET)

  • When read aloud, this item's name also sounds a lot like "Faux Grass" which means fake grass.
