Gained 328 Rouguishness with a level 24 DB (589 Moxie, 535 base) --Chillydragon 22:08, 15 January 2006 (CST)
Gained 322 Roguishness with a level 12 (112 Moxie, 104 base) PM, but 322 is almost equal to double my buffed mysticality. Maybe it goes by your main stat? --Gaccm 23:06, 16 January 2007 (CST)
Gained 410 Cheek (but it only counts as 273 since it was a moxie day). DB, Buff 162 (137 base) lvl 12 --Gaccm 14:55, 27 February 2007 (CST)
gainded 329 cheek, level 13 DB (160 base, 180 mod), hmm raise the cap maybe?? --King maniac 18:24, 4 April 2007 (CDT)
Based on the reports above by Gaccm and King maniac of non-Moxie Day boosts of 322 and 329 substats, I'm increasing the reported cap from 300 to 330, both here and on the zone page for The Haunted Ballroom. --ElroyJetson 15:09, 14 June 2007 (CDT)
From the numbers being reported, it sounds a lot like the maximum is 300, with a 10% variance in either direction (i.e. for a maxed character, it's anywhere from 270 to 330). --Quietust (t|c) 15:16, 14 June 2007 (CDT) I was under the impression that caps are applied after all random variations. In practice, what's the difference between a 300 cap with a ±10% variance and an absolute cap of 330? The benefit I get from this page is knowing what the maximum boost I can receive is, not some intermediate step in calculating that boost. --ElroyJetson 15:30, 14 June 2007 (CDT)
- It's definitely more useful to know what the maximum average value is, not the maximum. --Starwed 15:47, 14 June 2007 (CDT)
- Funny, I didn't see this until just now. That would have saved me a lot of thought. --TechSmurf 05:32, 21 August 2011 (CEST)
So judging by above entries, the 330 cap can be exceeded on Moxie Day... what about with stat gain familiars (e.g. volleyball)? For things like this it'd be nice to know what things like this come into play and which don't. --djswim 15:41, 10 March 2008 (CDT)
I just got 205 smarm with a level 10 DB, 85 base moxie, and it is NOT a moxie day. That's more than 20% variance, which, unless TPTB accidentally made it a moxie day (I'm positive it's not supposed to be, one of the moons is half full), is pretty big. Unless this has something to do with the recent earthquakes and rock snakes I think this adventure needs more spading.--Knobula 02:05, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
- 208 chutzpah with 86 base moxie from the Rotting Matilda adventure. Perhaps the seismic activity is involved.--Knobula 02:18, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
Mainstat | Gains |
---|---|
50 | 119, 123, 124, 125 |
100 | 205, 237, 243 |
343 | 281, 288, 297 |
2789 | 298, 292, 310, 281 |
This doesn't seem to be capped so much as it stops scaling at a certain point. More data forthcoming! --TechSmurf 05:13, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what the difference between those would be. But, hey, there's 4 data points at stupidly high main stat for ya, just for the fun of it. --Flargen 06:05, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
- Most scaling noncoms have hard caps (like everything in Barney's Bar), but some (actually, just noncoms in Spookyraven, I think) stop scaling at a certain stat level but still have the same variance. There's some data on Talk:Rotting Matilda that shows what I'm talking about, too. --TechSmurf 06:32, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
