okay here is the deal
i am planning to move this to the main namespace under the title "Free fights". That is a known term (rather than, say "free combats") and, although slightly off-mark, not klunky (as opposed to "Free fights and free kills"). I couldn't think of anything better and will just make 1 or 2 redirects to this page in order to make up for it.
Also, I sort of think we should have an actual page on combats and one on encounters, but that's a whole 'nother issue and i am already tired. --Extremelywikidude (talk) 14:22, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
Missing Sources

Some (?) free fights do not advance certain counters. For instance, no free fights advance the boom box counter. Buddied bjorn counter gets advanced by most free fights, but not God lobster fights (any others?). Etc. Shadow Rift bosses
So the bosses occur basically at the same non-location as A Labyrinth of Shadows which means you can encounter one immediately by using Clara's bell, for instance. I have done this many times when accidentally losing to a boss, then using the bell and immediately going to the same boss again (not using the bell would have required me to spend 11 more adventures in realm). I am not sure whether this also works upfront or if there is some kind of limit on how many sneaks you can use. I guess that's something to be spaded but the gist of this long talk is that it should be spaded and then probably the blurb of the required 11 visits should be changed. --Extremelywikidude (talk) 07:03, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
