Talk:Fruitcake
From A KoL Wiki
Anyone know if there a use for the [discard] link on fruitcake? I did it for one and got a boring message ("You discard your fruitcake" or the like). --Club 16:42, 19 Oct 2005 (MDT)
- My understanding is that there is only a [discard] link because there's no autosell value (and thus no other way to get rid of it), and there's no autosell 'cuz Jick decided that's what he wanted for Crimbo items. Godthemod2 17:41, 21 November 2005 (Central Standard Time)
CAKE
Is there a CAKE reference here? I suspect not. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 07:51, 27 July 2011 (CEST)
- this was the first cakey thing afaik, way back before kol was anything other than a little bit of funny with a chat. the rules hadn't been formalised. perhaps someone should prod jick into adding a reference, although this is a little bit of history that i'm quite fond of as it is. perhaps fruitcake is to cake as knob sausage is to meat. --Evilkolbot 13:32, 27 July 2011 (CEST)
- unamazingly i'm completely wrong. a piece of wedding cake is way older and yup. cake reference. so, i'll go with the "fruitcake is not cake" theory, although most wedding cakes in the uk are fruitcakes with posh icing, since no other cake can last until the christening. --Evilkolbot 13:40, 27 July 2011 (CEST)
- The wedding cake didn't taste of "Italian Leather Sofa" originally. That was added later. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 19:25, 27 July 2011 (CEST)
- mfgd. february of this year. back-filling, eh? radio question needed. --Evilkolbot 01:23, 28 July 2011 (CEST)
