Talk:Gnauga Hides

Possibly extra gnomish damage or more item drop for the thugnderdome? Killerrabbit

  • Probably extra damage absorption. Just an assumption. --Desertmagic 19:07, 12 February 2007 (CST)

I did some prelim testing with gnauga hides in the Junkyard.

With the gnauga hide outfit, a Turtle Tamer with Tao experienced 9-15 damage in general...which is lower than what I would expect for gremlins. (I should have been experience 11-18 in damage.) I then tried with a demon buckler (same DR as the gnauga), and experienced 11-16 in damage...suggesting either DR or DA from the outfit. I tried at higher DA (equipping a bat hat and testing both with gnauga hide buckler vs. demon buckler) and the damage was lower with the gnauga hide outfit.

I think (and this is speculation) that the outfit gives EITHER a Damage Reduction of 5 or a Damage Absorption of 100. Anyone have a good way to check? --Foggy 11:22, 24 April 2008 (CDT)

Finally came back to this. Using a Turtle Tamer, level 32 with all TT skills. Alternative to uniform was whip, chaps and yakskin buckler, as it has the same DR as the gnauga hide.

Damage received from gremlins at MA 172 was 10-16 (actually expected 9-15) in alternative uniform, and 7-13 in GH uniform. This corresponds with a DR of 4 (since range remains the same, despite a DA of 66%). Double-checked against basement monster with MA of 814. Damage in alternative uniform was 95-121 (exp. 94-121), and in GH uniform 93-119.

Given the slight discrepancy in damage compared to the Monster Damage formula, I'm going to continue to work with these numbers. --Foggy 20:10, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
