Talk:Grim Brother

From A KoL Wiki

You can talk to him on the familiars page for some buffs. Discordance (talk) 22:07, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

You ponder the story you just heard. Sure, it was gruesome, but the important part is how wicked cool it would be to have clothes made out of glass--especially shoes!

Crown of Thrones

Popped my Brother into my CoT, and while I have yet to adventure to see if there's other effects, the CoT's enchantment changed to add "Monsters will be more attracted to you".--Mstieler (talk) 12:17, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

grim fairy tale drops

I have been getting 5 grim fairy tales a day from my brother for the last 3 days (since I started keeping track). Grimace has been waxing, so I have curious to see an increase / decrease in drops. Has anybody else been recording the number of drops they get? Do they occur after specific number of combats, or is it probabilistic? --Sausssage (talk) 22:25, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

  • I'm a little confused by your question. All the old content familiars and old and new spleen familiars drop 5 of their item a day (new content fams drop 1/day). Are you talking about amount, or frequency of the drops which is subject to RNG? ~Erich t/c 22:36, 18 March 2014 (UTC)~
    • That mostly answers my question -- how many are dropped / is it a fixed number. But I am curious about the mechanic behind it. I feel like they drop quickly at the start, then take longer.
      • There's a kolspading thread about spleen droppers. I believe it only went up to 2012 fams but it seems like it's the same for '13 and '14. Basically, the first drop has a flat chance that increases by 5% every time it fails to drop. Then the next one starts out at a lower flat chance and increases by 5% every time it fails. Rinse and repeat until you get all 5. — Cool12309 (talk) 17:13, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
