I've noticed that over the past couple of weeks my dog is showing up with about the same frequency as usual, but he's only offering me the "Your Dog Found Something Again" adventure. I haven't seen a single instance of "Wooof! Wooooooof!" or "Playing Fetch." I've mostly been adventuring in Crimbo Town so it may be that the issue is limited to that zone, but since the price of tennis balls in the mall has more than doubled I suspect that maybe nobody is getting that choice. --Cobwebs (talk) 21:46, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

Checking my session logs after some speculating about it, it seems free combats don't advance the counter (no matter why, free runs and free kills are both out). Losses, Non-free runaways and wins do, as evidenced by me getting "Wooof! Wooooooof!" after getting Beaten Up twice and then running away to avoid the beaten up 3 times in the Snojo, which is the only record I have of said encounter in the Snojo. Meanwhile, I didn't get the encounter while trying to complete my New-You Quest in Pandemonium using boots runaways, until I was 20 encounters in, at which point I finally killed a 5th enemy and got the encounter right after. --The dictator (talk) 22:14, 13 May 2017 (UTC)
