Talk:Hiding in Plain Sight
I did a bunch of rounds with a L16 character using the Antique Arms And Armor and Extreme Muscle Relaxation to lower my initiative. In The Castle in the Clouds in the Sky, I was at 50% initiative without the effect, 100% initiative with the effect. In The Junkyard, I was at 30% initiative without the effect, 100% with the effect.
The effect does NOT cancel out Cunctatitis.
In numerous adventures in The Castle in the Clouds in the Sky and the Treasury I saw absolutely no effect on Combat Frequency.

Since Running Away allegedly is not affected by stats, only monster initiative and player initiative, I decided to have one of my multis
- ) Attempt to run away from bunnies naked
- ) Attempt to run away from bunnies with varies negative modifiers
- ) Attempt to run away from bunnies with various negatives and Hiding
For naked, I got 142 successful attempts in 268 attempts...53% +/- 6%.
For buoybottoms (-30%), I got 40/170 or 24% +/- 7%. For pegleg, I got 0/1240 attempts. For pegleg + 1 ball (-45% overall), I got 27 out of 871. 3% +/-1%.
All of this suggests that my character has a base chance of 50% when running away from rabbits.
With -140% initiative (scuba gear, buoybottoms, rusty shovel) + Hiding in Plain Sight, I had 83/945, or 9% +/-2%. At -150% + Hiding, I had 0/1200 attempts.
Thus, Hiding in Plain Sight gave me +100% initiative. --Foggy 18:38, 15 April 2008 (CDT)

- while douglas adams' use of hiding in plain sight was highly entertaining, is there any chance someone could find the exact quote? otherwise it stays out. --Evilkolbot 12:14, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
