Talk:Hotform
There seems to be either a bug or a unreported behavior with hotform, and probably coldform as well. I'm currently a Sauceror, and when under the effect of Hotform, spells that give a "cold" message (IE "a stream of cold Catsup") do hot damage, but are not effected by my equipment that gives a bonus to hot damage. Specifically, I hit the damage cap on Hot spells, but not on Cold ones. I'm only using the 17-Alarm Saucepan, so I'm not sure that all equipment that gives a bonus to hot spells behaves this way.
I apologize if this is old news. --Airpi 14:29, 12 September 2007 (CDT)
- As I understand (and from what Jick has said in the past), this is intentional, since it converts all damage to said element, no matter where it came from (attack, spell, effect, combat item, or familiar), even if it was a different element. --Quietust (t|c) 15:02, 12 September 2007 (CDT)
Oh, so the conversion to hot damage happens after the bonus damage would have been applied then. That makes since. this unsigned comment was added by Airpi at 20:16 BST, 12 September 2007
- does aforementioned converting of elements count everything towards the +100 needed to qualify for the hothouse hero trohpy? Monsieur 14:01, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- Nope, only things that explicitly add hot damage count. Hotform is also one of the requirements, though. --TechSmurf 18:34, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
