Talk:Imitation crab meat
Against crabs... does it only include cargo and mine crabs? how about Booty crab? --Hrag 22:06, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
If used against a mine crab, it detonates, so don't bother. It seemed like a promising possibility - an otherwise not terribly useful consumable that ostensibly kills it's target from within, but the mine crab just blew up, which is easy enough to do without wasting a consumable. --Noskilz 03:21, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
I edited the page to reflect that it's effective against certain non-crabs as well. This was after successfully getting a Mer-kin scavenger to eat one. --Dkohler 02:37, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Wait...so against crab-eating enemies, it doesn't eat it, but instead hits you in the face, but non crab-eating enemies eat it? That doesn't make sense...maybe it's crab vs non-crab, and not crab-eating? --Jimfromtx 06:08, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Maybe it's just against underwater monsters. Meh, we just should keep track against whoom it worked and not worked... --Hrag 17:38, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- Well, all the fish in the briny deeps ate it, as did the stranglin' algae and sponge. So I'm guessing anything underwater will eat them. --Prestige 02:09, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- I think I can confirm that being underwater in the important thing. I copied a drowned sailor with spooky putty and tried to use this on him. It didn't work. Normally they're susceptible.
Does it always do exactly 23 damage, or is there a range?Argus 09:38, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- Some data on self-damage...
10,11,11,10,10,11. My guess is that its based on the monster. This was a knob goblin very mad scientist. I'll be doing some testing against various monsters to prove this theory.--Alabit 10:56, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, strange stuff. against drunken half-orc hobo:"You gain 0 hit point." So, yeah, its probably based on monster ML.--Alabit 11:04, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

- More data, at low MLs.
- ML(1-3)=0
- ML(4)=1/0
- ML(5-7)=1
- ML(8-9)=1/2
- ML(10-11)=2
- ML(12-14)=2/3
- ML(15)=3
- ML(16-19)=3/4
- ML(20)=4/5
- More data.--Alabit 12:30, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- 20-25%, rounded down?
using against out of water mer-kin miner(putty) gave me this (118 hp damage and ouch) had +48 ML. --Brion thenotgiant 22:56, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
I can confirm all of the above after some testing on sandworms, black pudding, cavewomyn, bean counters, fluffy rabbits, and fluffy rabbits + 18ML. For all of the monsters, it does appear to be related to 20% to 25% Monster Level, rounded down.
What's interesting is that I tried the following on two ferrets: I used my muscle-boosting bang potion 3 times on the ferret, and then crab meat, and lost 83 HP, much higher than I would expect. On a second ferret, I used my moxie-boosting bang potion 3 times, and then crab meat, and lost 60 HP, the amount I would expect. I repeated the process with a caveman hippy. After 4 moxie-boosters, I was still only doing 53 HP damage to myself; 4 muscle-boosters later, and I was doing 80ish damage.--Foggy 20:55, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
