Damage Reduction

I personally think it's damage reduction, but how much I do not know. All hits on me were only 1 damage, after and before the effect they were 2-3.--MoreCurious 03:57, 26 June 2007 (CDT)

It is damage reduction. I was taking damage in the teens before use, it dropped it to 1 for me as well.--Darklight 18:22, 1 July 2007 (CDT)

I was taking damage in the 80s (82, 85...); dropped to 50s (52, 60). Was fighting Ed the Undying. DR 20-30?--Ryo Sangnoir 13:11, 8 July 2007 (CDT)

I was fighting Ed the Undying too, and my damage went from 40s/50s to 20s. Tigger89 13:00, 16 July 2007 (CDT)

If it's paralleling the can of spinach (melee damage +30), might it be a flat damage reduction of 30? --Kevinth 19:22, 15 August 2007 (CDT)

Against the hippies in the bombed out camp it was reduced 18-20 for my lvl 16 Sauce. Adjusted Muscl = 191, Myst = 287, Mox = 213 Also, it did appear reduce stench dmg by 10-11. watermoon 15:18, 08 Sept 2007 (PDT)

I used mine against the Bonerdagon after I lost and I took in the area of 30-35 without it and with it was taking 15-20, and looking at the other results it looks like it gives about 50% damage absorbtion. --Chunky_boo 17:40, 8 September 2007 (CDT)

Lord Spookyraven

I just tried it on Lord Spookyraven, to take damage off the inital blow. I don't think it worked on him, but then again, that initial hit is very unpredictable. I'm pastamancer at the moment, so I just noodled and coned him, maybe it could be tested by someone with a melee class.--MoreCurious 05:19, 18 July 2007 (CDT)

I think this simply makes your character resistant to physical damage. This would explain why spookyraven still hurts you, since his damage is of the spooky type. --sl1me 06:15, 18 July 2007 (CDT)

From the evidence, looks like this thing gives a strong boost to Damage Absorption, not reduction, which explains why for Ryo it was ~30 and for Tigger ~20. That's my guess. It would need to be tested properly. --Tripwood 21:42, 29 July 2007 (CDT)

This item gives damage reduction, not damage absorption. Keep in mind that DR is applied before DA: this means that DR has less of an effect when using a lot of DA from equipment. My test was as follows: (Fight in the basement, where ML does not vary.)

0 DA: 38-40 damage. 9-11 damage with imp delicious. Damage reduced by 29. Correcting for DA, damage reduced by 29.0

60 DA: 32-34 damage. 8-9 damage with imp delicious. Damage reduced by 25. Correcting for DA, damage reduced by 29.2

160DA: 27-28 damage. 7-8 damage with imp delicious. Damage reduced by 20. Correcting for DA, damage reduced by 28.7--QuantumNightmare 17:29, 22 September 2007 (CDT)
