Talk:Juju Mojo Mask

From A KoL Wiki

I did a spooky attack and got this message:

Your arcane skills have impressed the Lightning God. The eyes of your mask glow blue.--Icon315 03:23, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Sheildbutt got me this:

Your combat prowess has caught the attention of the Volcano God. The eyes of your mask glow red.--EvilBear 04:06, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Next combat I had, nothing happened with shield--EvilBear 04:25, 1 July 2010 (UTC) butt, but i had Wrath of the Volcano God(0 Mojo Points) which when used:

You stomp on the ground and call forth the wrath of the Volcano God. Your blood boils (in a good way,) the ground rumbles (also in a good way,) and the area around you gets hotter and hotter until your opponent finally bursts into flames, suffering 95 damage.

The rumbling stops and the eyes of your mask go dark.

Next round: Your opponent continues to burn, suffering an additional 46 damage.

(Damage was hot, i don't know how to code that)--EvilBear 04:18, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

I used a turtle totem and got Gaze of the Trickster God--Foggy 04:11, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

I used a Turtle Totem and got: Your subterfuge has amused the Trickster God. The eyes of your mask glow green.

Gives intrinsic effect: Gaze of the Trickster God (+30 Ranged damage;+30 Sleaze damage; +3 Moxie stats/fight; +30% combat initiative)--Pc goldman 04:14, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Ok so depending on the attack it gives you the chance to summon a god using a certain skill.--Icon315 04:23, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Just used shieldbutt and it didn't trigger. Used a second time and it did. So not guaranteed each round but the "charge" carries over to another combat. --EvilBear 04:28, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

ok here is what i think happens:

  • Combat items = Jokster
  • Elemental attacks = Lightning
  • Skill attacks = Volcano

--Icon315 04:29, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

    • Rave combo triggered the Trickster god for me. --Fluxxdog 15:46, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Based off of what I have seen so far, there are at least 3 gods which result in an intrinsic effect which lasts until the skill of the same name is used. It is possible to gain/use an effect more than once per combat as I was able to use turtle totem to get Trickster effect twice in one combat. Also, Volcano attack is probably based on Muscle since my attack did 1208 hot damage (muscle is 807 buffed/448 base) so maybe 150% buffed muscle but probably to early to state definitively. --Pc goldman 04:31, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

So how are we going to show this? both the skills and effects have the same name--Icon315 04:38, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

I stand corrected, they don't have the same name. 'Gaze' is the effect and 'Wrath' is the skill (at least for Volcano God). Anyway, if they had been the same name they would have been differentiated as either (skill) or (effect). See Accordion Thief page for examples. --Pc goldman 06:00, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

The procs seem to have diminishing returns, although this seems to be based on what type; the first two elemental spells that I casted proc'ed, and it's happening less and less frequently, similar to drops from IotM familiars. After casting elemental spells for quite a few battles, I switched to using items, and the first two procced trickster. On a different note as to the damage, I have 121 buffed mysticality right now, and the lightning wrath spell is hitting for ~350-365.--Sermari 08:35, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

What the... heck is "proc"? It seems to be used as both a noun and a verb. --StorellaDeville 05:43, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
You is newb. --Flargen 05:49, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

Gaze of the Volcano God

The view through your mask is the world the way the ancient island Volcano
God would see it. Basically it's the same as the regular world, but you
really, really want it to be on fire.
Weapon Damage +50%
+3 Muscle Stats Per Fight
Regenerate 8-10 HP per Adventure

Volcano effect --EvilBear 04:53, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Intrinsic effect from post-turtle totem use:

Gaze of the Trickster God

Your mask is changing the way you see the world. Every ear is begging
for a wet willy, every pair of shoelaces want to be tied together,
and every sleeping hand needs, more than it has ever needed anything
else, to be dipped in warm water.
Ranged Damage +30
+30 Sleaze Damage
+3 Moxie Stats Per Fight
 +30% Combat Initiative

Valys 06:01, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Gaze of the Lightning God

The view through the eyes of your mask is shrouded by storm clouds.
Your hair is standing on end and the air around you is redolent with ozone.
Something tells you there's a storm a'comin'.
Spell Damage +50%
+3 Mysticality Stats Per Fight
Regenerate 4-5 MP per Adventure

--Sermari 08:32, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

I think we should mention how you get each effect/skill, also should we say that if you remove the mask you lose the effect?--Icon315 19:20, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

I heartily agree! At the very least say gaining an effect seems to be triggered by combat actions? Does that correctly describe what you guys have found? Or is it actually "triggered by use of combat skills or combat items" instead? I tried hitting some giants with my bottle-rocket crossbow (only 5 of them) without getting any mask intrinsic effect. As soon as I hit the next one with a beer bomb, though, I got Gaze of the Trickster God.

It seems to me that the god you get is from the stat behind the skills. with volcano=muscle lightning=myst and trickster=moxie. This makes me wonder if the trickster is triggered from using an item without ambidextrous funk-slinging--Stumpsmcgee 03:47, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Limitations?

Has anyone managed to get 2 or all 3 intrinsics at the same time from this? I tried with LTS and Käsesoßesturm, but only the first used skill got the according intrinsic every time. -- Ruby Eyes 08:42, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Also, after firing some wrath a couple of times, I don't get the intrinsic anymore. My guess would be that it's limited per day? I didn't count exactly, but I think it could be roughly 10 times per day or so ... -- Ruby Eyes 09:33, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Maybe not, I did get the gaze another time right after I saved this page. --Ruby Eyes 09:36, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
  • My guess would be that it becomes less likely each time you do it and then recharges the next day, but I haven't tested extensively yet. --ManaUser 04:58, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

I don't know if it matters much, but if you use the skill (wrath), you can regain the effect (gaze) again in the same battle. If you use it again (wrath), you can afterwards regain the effect (gaze) in the same battle once again. More than two times I haven't tried it.. --Nim 18:57, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Just tried wearing the mask while facing the Naughty Sorceress, the intrinsic effect does trigger during the fight and remains until used, (I did not have an intrinsic active prior to fight to see if she would knock it during round one) the boost allowed me to use a 0 mp spell/skill to attack as long as the spell/skill didn't trigger the effect remained. Coupled with the +10% stats from the mask itself all my softcore runs will have that as one of my accessories during the Naughty Sorceress fight. --Uzziah 17:50, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

DATA

It seems that that the chance of getting the intrinsic is based off of the number of times that the correlating skill is used. You can then unequip then reequip the mask to remove to intrinsic to help spade. I did a little bit and got this data

With the skill never used I got 20 attempts and got the intrinsic every time.

With the skill used once I got 19 successes and one failure.

Skill used twice I got 10 successes and 10 failures.

Skill used three times I got 5 successes and 20 failures

Skill used 4 times I got 4 successes and 29 failures

Skill used 5 times I got 2 successes and 27 failures

After that I was out of adventures. To do this I was adventuring on various monsters and if I failed to get the skill I would reuse toss until I got it. --Stumpsmcgee 03:10, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

What exactly activates Gazes

I've noticed on all three pages some irregularities with what's on the wiki and what people are reporting. Here's what I think is confirmed:

  • Lightning God: Activates with any Sauceror or Pastamancer combat skill
  • Trickster God: Activates with combat items (regardless of funkslinging)

Now, other methods of activation don't seem to quite match up. It is mentioned on the Volcano God's page that in can be activated using "using a non-spell combat skill". This would include Disco Bandit skills and Rave moves, all of which I know first hand activate the Trickster God. Sing apparently does too. Also, I've had the Volcano God activate just by attacking. It would seem more appropriate to say each God activates depending on the class skill used...

  • Volcano God: Muscle class combat skills
  • Lightning God: Mysticality combat class skills
  • Trickster God: Moxie class combat skills

... as well as certain other abilities which seem cross-class...

  • Volcano God: Attacking (not sure yet if there's a difference between melee and ranged)
  • Lightning God: ??
  • Trickster God: Combat items

Further more, there seems to be some things lacking in various answers. Jiggling a chefstaff, for example. Do all combat items activate the Trickster including healing items or is there a difference between HP, MP, and HP/MP restorers? Melee vs. Ranged for Volcano. Skills granted by other items or outfits such as the Haiku Katana or Hodgman's Regal Frippery (summon hobo underling). Crimbo skills like Candyblast or Surge of Icing (safe bet those two activate Lightning). Form of... Bird! skills.

Before I went and made edits, I thought it best to put this here so others can add their experience and thoughts.--Fluxxdog 08:09, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Discussion of the list

This takes care of all Spookyraven skills, SC, TT, PM, DB and AT combat skills. Still need SR skills and Sea skills, as well as this and that. --TechSmurf 06:47, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

I would think Spectral Snapper triggered it, but I guess testing is testing. Also, added Saucy Salve. --Raijinili 09:53, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Added a section break --Raijinili 10:06, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

I reported these as bugs, and got a response back that they've been added to a to-do list:

  • DB Nemesis skills: Gothy Handwave, Break it on Down, Pop and Lock it, Run Like the Wind
  • Disco Dance of Doom
  • Moxious Maneuver
  • ULEW skills (SC/S/DB confirmed not to work)
  • Saucy Salve (quick) and other skills when they don't take a turn (Stealth Mistletoe)
  • Spectral Snapper (Tango of Terror and PM's Spookyraven skill work)
  • TT combos

Where should the text for acquiring the gaze effects go?

There is specific in-game combat text when you acquire one of the gaze effects, shouldn't this text go somewhere on this page? --CheezyBob 22:13, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

NS/Bonerdagon Block Chance

i have hit the NS with 2 lightning gods, and both have connected. however, the bonerdagon uses a similar blocking mechanic, and it blocked the wrath. confirmations, anyone?

EDIT: the bonerdagon blocked once, and died on the second hit.--The ErosionSeeker 15:04, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

After nearly a hundred rounds (and a block rate probably over 70%) and eight Wraths (six at around 100 Myst), I finally got the NS to block a Wrath of the Volcano God. Myth Busted. --Raijinili

table

now that everything is spaded through (besides triggers), let's have a table.

to wit, the Wraths:

  • Volcano: .9-1.1 times max HP, and recurring damage (60% of each previous round)
  • Lightning: 1.8-2.2 times max MP, and two rounds of stun (does this work on hobo bosses, i wonder?)
  • Trickster: recurring damage: 15% of monster's current HP per round, and 5-10 atk/def deleveling

of course, the table's should also be intended for the bottom of the wrath and gaze pages.

Juju Mojo Mask gods

  • Weapon Damage +50%
  • +25 Hot Damage
  • +3 Muscle Stats Per Fight
  • Regenerate 8-10 HP per Adventure

  • Recurring: 60% of the previous round's damage.
