Talk:List of Greasemonkey scripts

From A KoL Wiki

Hello. I was wondering...for reference, should we included outdated scripts, annotated accordingly? Perhaps have another section for them? Not include them at all? I think this should essentially be the hub for GM scripts, old and new, and be updated as quickly as possible. I try to do that, but I've obviously avoided uploading scripts that are, to my knowledge, outdated, and I feel the page is somewhat incomplete. --Aabattery 22:04, 28 November 2006 (CST)

Instructions?

With the newest version of gresemonkey, the install is different, you just click on it.

The Profile Options script link by Aprocalypse is broken, replace with this? --Macoronikevin 04:18, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

The link to bigfreak's minicaster script is broken. The link on the HCO forums (which points to the same place) similarly does not work. I have uploaded the version of the script that I've got to my kol googlepages account, and can be found at <http://sketchysolid.googlepages.com/bigfreaks_mini-caster_sc.user.js>. I'll take it down again once it is officially hosted again. --SketchySolid 01:28, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

The script "Slimecrafter - Author: Jik4eva" link seems to be busted. --Dram 19:05, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

It looks like the web site Jik4eva's scripts are hosted on is kaput - all his scripts don't work. --Wrldwzrd89 23:51, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Scratch that, must have been a temporary outage. Working once again! --Wrldwzrd89 00:59, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

OneTonTomato's scripts site appears to be kaput for good. All the content is gone, and trying to access the site just gives 404 errors. --Wrldwzrd89 14:08, 22 May 2011 (UTC)

All links to the Inline Descriptions script by Charon are broken. I don't know of a replacement. Remove completely? --SaucySam47707 (talk) 12:38, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

Obsolete script?

I believe the Charpane buff shrugger is now obsolete, as you can right-click on the buff icon to shrug now. I don't know if I should just remove it, though. --Emtu 18:10, 8 January 2007 (CST)

I think obsolete scripts should be removed. I'll go through and do that in a few days if no one objects (with the ones I know for sure are outdated, anyway). --Lostcalpolydude 20:52, 19 January 2008 (CST)

I decided to move the few scripts that I know don't work to a new section. There are probably other scripts that should be moved there (I only checked a few scripts, I wouldn't even know what the default MMG layout should look like...) Feel free to move other scripts there, or just get rid of that section altogether, or revert the changes (I made 3 edits total). --Lostcalpolydude 14:38, 11 February 2008 (CST)

I moved the WikiLink script to the Obsolete section because the hosting site has become a "search portal" and has changed the script to redirect all page loads to the site. I also updated the Recipes script link to Cmeister2's version as it's much more up to date. --Amandakerik 00:11, 10 March 2008 (CDT)

  • The WikiLink site loads up just fine for me, I don't see what you're talking about. --Lostcalpolydude 17:50, 14 March 2008 (CDT)
  • The WikiLink also works perfectly well for me, except that it gives me a line of gibberish code whenever a monster does cold damage.--Amilianna 22:00, 14 May 2008 (CDT)

~dunno if this belongs here, but anarch's hp color script does not work with compact mode--Argus 03:18, 23 August 2008 (CDT)

The Tongue script doesnt work(can't download) and i have the same problem with the strange leaflet script. is it just me?--Alabit 14:06, 26 August 2008 (CDT)

  • The fake hand summary script no longer works.--Alabit 23:12, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Picklish's googlepage has been taken down and therefor all scripts hosted on it are gone as well. Someone may want to talk to him and find out what's up or take down the links. (I do not edit pages.) --Tudot 16:52, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

The Click-Saver and the Click-Saver Plus don't seem to be working properly anymore. Possibly related to the recent update in the game... --Robotnik 17:38, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

The link to the HP Colors script is 404'd. Is there an alternate source? --Bobogoobo 02:02, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Template?

Would a template for all of these be a good idea? What about links to screenshots? --OneTonTomato 14:13, 30 January 2007 (CST)

Help! I clicked on Adventure Advisor and now my browser won't stop loading and reloading http://www.adbaaz.com/?dn=batmantis.com&flrdr=yes&nxte=jsArt Vandelay 21:05, 5 March 2008 (CST)

Same thing with the monster script. --Koltreg 22:20, 7 March 2008 (CST)

Malicious/Bugged scripts!

kol_toolbar.user.js and kol_toolbar.user.js both cause my browsers (Chrome and the new Flock) to refresh EVERY page (not just KoL) 5+ times per second (causing google to cut me off). Silvermoonstar3 18:47, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

  • If the script writers still update them, inform them. They were likely written before those browsers even existed. And they may or may not care if the latest trend browser chokes on it or not. --Flargen 21:30, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Tattoo Scripts

Anyone have one to help figure out what tattoos you are missing? The ordering on the tattoo page in-game drives me crazy. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 00:42, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

  • Yes; I (just) wrote Tattoo Counter. --Fig bucket 11:41, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
    • And it works! It was a bit slow loading the tattoo list, from the wiki, but it does show the 13 I'm missing. And it was not confused that I have two versions of the hobo tat (I'm wearing an incomplete one, but I do have the completed version). --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:18, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
    • Has trouble on my linux firefox, reports "JSON is not defined", Nothing shows up on either page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Plater (talkcontribs) on 07:17, 2011 June 4
      • Since I was using Linux Firefox when I tested it on the 31st of May, I don't think the platform is an issue. Since then the wiki has updated it's software and I've had one or two Firefox updates and it stopped working. Ah. Updating to version 1.1 at the above link fixes things for me. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 21:46, 31 August 2011 (CEST)

Item Description Mall Value Checker

I'm looking for something along the lines of Price Gun, but puts a mall value under autosell value or something in the description popup. If anyone has this I'd be grateful. Nanochip 00:06, 1 September 2011 (CEST)

Name change?

I've been thinking lately about changing this article's name, due to multiple problems. The "(Categorized)" part is not needed, as it makes it sound like there is a page called "List of all Greasemonkey Scripts," which is not true. The word "Scripts" shouldn't be capitalized, as the extension is just called "Greasemonkey." Finally, the word "all" should be removed, as this list definitely does not include every single Greasemonkey script ever written for KoL. So, I am planning to move this page to "List of Greasemonkey scripts," which incidentally happens to be the title of a redirect. Does anyone have any objections, or can I go ahead with the move? --Oneforfortytwo 22:58, 13 April 2012 (CEST)

  • I support this change, and volunteer myself as a person who is willing to fix links to the old page on the Wiki. --Wrldwzrd89 20:40, 14 April 2012 (CEST)
  • Done. There are still a few talk/user/archived pages which link to the redirect, plus any number of incoming links from other sites and people with the page bookmarked, so the redirect probably shouldn't be deleted. --timrem 21:17, 14 April 2012 (CEST)

Logikol Pricegun

This script stopped working nearly a year ago. It needs to be removed and archived. Ravenous Muffin 09:34, 4 December 2012 (CET)

Wiki users with an registered account can also go to their Preferences and switch back to the MonoBook style (under Appearance). (Seriously guys, that Vector look is just hideous and broken all over. Why-oh-why would you do this to hapless users...) --Yatsufusa (talk) 14:58, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

  • It's far from hideous and the opposite of broken -- it enables functionality that we couldn't do in MonoBook. You're just used to the other skin, is all. Give it some time. The ads are really out of place but they were like that under MonoBook too, and we can't really do anything about them. — Cool12309 (talk) 20:20, 1 February 2015 (UTC)
