how is it even possible to get 1000 drunkenness? isn't the cap 20?Juansidious 12:47, 4 November 2006 (CST)

  • There is no cap in terms of drunkenness. There is however an amount of drunkenness one can have before one is unable to adventure any more. Without liver of steel, that cap is 14 (15 and up, no more adventuring). With liver, the cap becomes 19.

If a player is at 19 drunkenness, and drinks a 4 drunk drink (a DB drink for example), their drunkenness becomes 23, and they can not adventure or drink anymore. There are however a few items which can give additional amounts of drunkenness. Yummy tummy beans (sometimes), 668 scrolls (sometimes), and ! potions from the Dungeons of Doom (one of the 9 will give you extra drunkenness). The ! potions are the most effective way to obtain the drunkenness. It will take roughly 500 of the one which gives you +drunk to get there though, which will cost roughly 300k meat or so unless you farm them yourself. --J12601 12:59, 4 November 2006 (CST)

  • I've just run a little simulation of this: ten million runs of drinking sufficient potions to go from 0 drunkenness to at least 1000 drunkenness, assuming that +1, +2 and +3 drunkenness per potion drunk are equally likely outcomes. The results follow an approximately normal distribution, with the mean number of potions needed being 500.33 (as expected) with a standard deviation of 9.135 potions. The total range was from 454 to 552 potions needed. So: there's a 68% chance (within 1 standard deviation from the mean) that you'd need to drink between 492 and 510 potions to hit 1000 drunkenness; 95% (within 2 SD) between 483 and 519 potions; and 99.7% (within 3 SD) between 473 and 528 potions. I could probably do one hundred million runs if anyone wanted a little more accuracy, but it'd take a while... --Kay Dekker 03:08, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

Okay, this trophy is possible, as long as you have over a million meat. I spent all that on potions... Zheliel 08:11, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

  • I suppose the calculations will vary depending on which potion is booze for you, but my current booze potion costs 400 or less each in the Mall. As I calculated above, there's about a 0.3% chance that you'd need to drink more than 528 potions (and that's not counting the drunkenness you get from drinking standard booze), so I'd be very surprised if you needed to expend much more than 200k on potions. And don't forget that you can farm them. How many potions did you actually need to use to gain the trophy? --Kay Dekker 17:53, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
    • Just to confirm that the calculations are reasonable... I've just drunk enough bubbly potions (my booze) to get the trophy. I started at 23 drunkenness (my maximum normally-feasible drunkenness), and then drank 100-potion batches, which yielded +214, +189, +194, +188 and +200 drunkenness, bringing me up to 1008 drunkenness. I farmed some of them and bought the rest at the Mall if the price was <400 Meat/potion. I certainly spent less than 200k Meat in getting the trophy, but I'm afraid I didn't note the actual cost because I didn't think it'd be interesting. --Kay Dekker 13:42, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
      • Coincidentally, my potion was also bubbly and my numbers were (drinking 100 at a shot, starting at 25 drunkenness): +201, +194, +202, +199, +194. My total expenditures on the potions was about 110k (give or take), with another 10k for the trophy. I ended with 1015 drunkenness after that fun. -- sulfur 13:13, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
      • For amusement, I polished off another 50 and ended with another +104 off of that. -- sulfur 13:14, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

More confirmation

I bought 500 dark potions (mine), costing 265 each. That is 132,500 meat. Multi-using 100 each time, I got +187, +187, +218, +179, and +205. I had 2 drunkenness from before (from testing the potions), and got to 978 drunkenness. I then bought 10 more, at 250 each, for +19 drunkenness. This got me to 997, so I bought another one for 250 meat, and got +2 drunkenness. Finally, I bought 1 more at 255 meat, which gave me +3 drunkenness and got me to 1002.

TL;DR: 512 potions used, 135,505 meat for the potions (dark) + 10,000 for trophy = 145,505 meat for the trophy. — Cool12309 (talk) 23:17, 6 October 2012 (CEST)
