Talk:Lobsterfrogman
due to the Zerg Rush adventure, this is probably a refrence to a zerg unit. I might be lurker, drone, or overlord, but I think it's supposed to be a defiler--Co678 14:38, 1 July 2007 (CDT)
- Combination of several things, I would have to guess. There's the zerg aspect, and I would also say it's a reference to the Deep Ones from the Cthulhu Mythos. (Who literally are frogmen, and have a shambling gait).--Toffile 14:40, 1 July 2007 (CDT)
- Actually, a Zerg Rush is when you send a collection of small and cheap units (Zerglings, mostly) at the enemy base, hoping to overrun them with superior numbers even if the units are of low quality. The thrust of the attack is that you can continue to mass-produce these small units faster than your opponent can rebuild. The lobsterfrogman is a Murloc and not a Zerg unit of any kind. (Though Murlocs do show up in that other Blizzard property - Warcraft 3 (and yes, that online, massively multiplayer one too.) --Invariel 17:32, 8 October 2007 (CDT)
This critical hit text, "He wails "Glurhurlblurglurblurghurlblub!" and fifty guys just like him charge out of the sea and wail on you. Man, you hate it when they do that" is very reminiscent of fighting Murlocs in World of Warcraft. Since it's tough to see the ones that are just under the water line at the shore, it's common to get jumped by a bunch of them when you think you're attacking a loner. They also make that sound constantly. --DuckAndCower 00:39, 13 September 2007 (CDT)
My first thought when I saw this, especially with the "did-a-chik" and the like, was the lobstermen from the Gunslinger Series by Stephen King, more so with the adventure where you lose fingers to them.--Erishiku 12:18, 2 July 2007 (CDT)
Is the "Lobster. Frog. Man. Lobsterfrogman." thing a reference to the "Manbearpig" from South Park?--aarestad 09:00, 10 July 2007 (CDT)
- I agree. In South Park they say "Man. Bear. Pig... Manbearpig". It seems like a reference to me! --Gausie 07:16, 19 July 2007 (CDT)

The "Hello my Baby" miss message appears to refer to Michigan J. Frog from teh Warner Brother's cartoon Norvilion 20:47, 10 July 2007 (CDT)
Barrels Limit
I know from my own testing that post-war, there is no limit to how many barrels of gunpowder you can have (I've had as many as 14, and they still drop.) Is the limit on the main page quest only?--Foggy 09:05, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
Barrels not 100%?
I just killed one of these guys and no barrel drop (it was the fifth barrel I needed, and even had 215% drop rate - not that I assumed that mattered). 10% combats, 215% item rate, ML of 0, etc. No barrel :/ -MarcyRoni 17:11, 17 August 2007 (CDT)
- Make that two in a row, third one dropped the last barrel needed when I changed my outfit from bounty hunter to hippie :/ -MarcyRoni 17:14, 17 August 2007 (CDT)
I can confirm this. Although I used a Badly Romantic Arrow on the Lobsterfrogman, the arrow'd one didn't drop the gunpowder. However, this was after I'd completed the Sonofa subquest, but before I'd finished the War Island Quest. --Glukthar 13:24, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
- Those comments were from 2007: things may have changed since then. The current 100% drop has this caveat in notes: "During the Mysterious Island Quest, once you have obtained five barrels of gunpowder in your inventory, it won't drop anymore. It will drop again once the Quest is over." Find a frogman that doesn't drop one breaking that rule and it will be interesting. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:21, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
- I fought 3 arrow'd Lobsterfrogmen after turning in the quest and none of them bothered to drop any additional barrels (with about +110% item drops). My guess would be that after you turn in the quest, they either stop dropping barrels until the war is over or that there are two kind of Lobsterfrogmen following two sets of rules: One type you encounter before the quest is turned in (stopping dropping at 5) and one you encounter after the quest is turned in (that will drop an unlimited number). In the absence of certainty on this mater, I'll at least make a note on the page. --Yatsufusa (talk) 21:32, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
Barrels Pre-War
When you fight one of these pre-War (from a photocopied monster), they do drop gunpowder, right? The drop notes on the page should be changed if that's confirmed. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 22:45, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- The note should probably be changed so it has better grammar. They do drop barrels before the quest, but I do not know what will happen if you try to get a 6th barrel before the quest. --Flargen 23:41, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- You don't get the sixth barrel. I reworded the page. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 22:38, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
- You will also not get a 6th barrel if you have completed the sidequest (already turned in 5), but the war is not yet over. --Flargen 01:39, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
- You don't get the sixth barrel. I reworded the page. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 22:38, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
Lighthouse Keeper
"My gunpowder! Big boom! Big big boom! Thank you, bumpty-bumpty-bump! Bumpty-bump!"
He gazes at you thoughtfully for a few seconds, then a smile lights up his face and he says "My life... er... my bombs for you. My bombs for you, bumpty-bumpty-bump!"
This is definitely a reference to a character in Steven King's "The Stand," but I can't remember his name. It was the one who hauls the nuke back to the antichrist figure... it's been so long since I read/watched it, but I definitely remember the "Big boom" and "My life for you!" lines. (this is my first wiki edit, so apologies for any mistakes.)

- yup, it's on the page for The Lighthouse. --Evilkolbot 07:22, 13 September 2007 (CDT)
