Talk:Louvre Map/Old
Back to start direction
The 'back to start' direction is NOT the same for each location for me. So this page needs a rewrite.--Darkness 09:16, 22 September 2006 (CDT)
- On one of my characters, taking the stairs Up from any location except a Relativity will take me to a Relativity. On another, taking the stairs Sideways from any location except a Relativity will take me to a Relativity. I doubt it's a coincidence, there's probably something there... - On my next ascention I have now got a map with what appears to be a 'back to start' direction. I have not been to every location, however all non-relativity locations 'stairs up' takes me to relativity 3. I have been to 5 locations so far. So there may be something in it. At least worth trying the same direction as a guess. It doesnt always work but there may be a pattern to be found.--Darkness 04:46, 29 September 2006 (CDT)
Complete maps
We need examples of complete maps posted here so we can discover a pattern if one exists. It may just be random and we are seeing patterns in the chaos.
- 9e79c09e79db6e79e79e6956 - the current map on my only multi that is strong enough to survive running away in the Gallery. All points return to the start on Sideways, none lead to #3. Phlip 02:22, 5 October 2006 (CDT)
- 9e79e7d9bd9b9db9db9f7a96 - the map on another of my multies... sideways returns to the start on every location on the 2nd tier... which are the ones where it really matters. Strangely, all the Relativities has the exits in the same order in both of these... but I know that's not always the case... need more data before any conclusions can be drawn though. - I would add a visual map, but the Louvre Mapper doesn't work with the results I've collected. I've mapped out every junction, and have never once been to Relativity-Monks or Nighthawks.
- Start: Up(Venus) Down(Scream) Sideways(GriddedLandscape)
- Relativity-Lizard: Up(GriddedLandscape) Down(Venus) Sideways(Scream)
- Relativity-Rockstar: Up(GriddedLandscape) Down(Venus) Sideways(Scream)
- Relativity-Monks: UNKNOWN
- Scream: Up(BoatRaces) Down(LastSupper) Sideways(Relativity-Lizard)
- Venus: Up(MeltingClocks) Down(LastSupper) Sideways(Relativity-Lizard)
- GriddedLandscape: Up(Toga) Down(CreationOfAdam) Sideways(Relativity-Lizard)
- Nighthawks: UNKNOWN (pity, this is my favourite piece of art from the bunch)
- BoatRaces: Up(Vangoghbitussin) Down(Muscle) Sideways(Relativity-Lizard)
- LastSupper: Up(Muscle) Down(Manetwich) Sideways(Relativity-Lizard)
- MeltingClocks: Up(PinotRenoir) Down(Myst) Sideways(Relativity-Rockstar)
- CreationOfAdam: Up(PinotRenoir) Down(Moxie) Sideways(Relativity-Lizard)
- Toga: Up(Manetwich) Down(Moxie) Sideways(Relativity-Lizard)
- All my 'Sideways' take me back to a Relativity, which seems intentional; but only one of them takes me to the Rockstar, and not one of them takes me to the Monks, which seems random. I'm really lost as to why I never get to Nighthawks.

- I've found that Relativity rotates (and I don't mean just the image/adventure text, although that may be related). Half the time when I go up, I'll get Piet Mondrian (the squares), and the other half I get Birth of Venus. Similarly, half the time I go down I get The Scream, and the other half I get Piet Mondrian again. In both cases, they alternate between the two if I go back to Relativity. I've yet to test sideways, but I suspect it will alternate between The Scream and Birth of Venus. --LegendaryBard 00:28, 2 March 2007 (CST)
Map Structure
If I'm reading the map correctly, the Muscle boost always requires going through The Scream, the Myst boost always requires going through the Birth of Venus, and the Moxie boost always requires going through Piet Mondrian. Is this correct (for all characters)? If so, it may be worth stating it explicitly. PlatypusNinja 00:59, 11 April 2007 (CDT)
Spading report
I've been doing what phlip began above, over here:
http://hardcoreoxygenation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=85234#85234
Things are still somewhat tentative, but it's enough to make some conclusions. I'll put the firmer conclusions into the main page once I have added in all the new data - could be soon or not so soon.
Anyway, I wanted to point it out so that this work is known somewhere on the wiki.
