Talk:Lovebug abilities and encounters

From A KoL Wiki

Is there any standard way to methodically check all locations on the wiki? I'm thinking of, say, copying all the Areas by Number to a new page and then crossing them off as we check them. (Starting at the Distant Woods in run here: no special encounters in: Inexplicable Door, Rat Faucet, Spooky Forest, Old Landfill. Found something special in a Ballroom Brawl.) Would Lovebug location testing page be appropriate? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aelfinn (talkcontribs) on 01:27, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

The wiki shouldn't make entire pages for temporary spading. A much better place for that would be a google docs spreadsheet (there actually already is one!). — Cool12309 (talk) 03:53, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

This looks super-optimal for ascensions, no wonder the Mr. A is up nearly 3 million meat from last month. Though, I wonder about post-ascension play ~ the sea, clan basement, Hamburglaris Shield Generator, Fernswarthy's, etc ... AvangionQ (talk) 05:58, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

To be fair, prices shot up at the end of January, because I tried to buy a Chateau M key. --Johnny Treehugger (talk) 20:34, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

In The Deep Dark Jungle, I received both the message from Summon Mayfly Swarm and the message from the Lovebug that give an extra Coinspiracy, and I received 2 Coins-spiracy. It was the only time I received the message from the mayfly bait out of 30 combats there (first day of the ascension using bait), and it was in a combat with the Mercenary of Fortune. I did not receive the message from the mercenary that corresponds to finding a Coinspiracy from him. -Abbywill (talk) 19:09, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

In Dreadsylvania, I got FKs from both mayflies and lovebugs. Deleted the "initial spading" note at the bottom of the page. --Sausssage (talk) 06:42, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

Haven't had a chance to test this yet, but since lovebugs give Coinspiracy in Coinspiracy-related zones, Beach Bucks in Beach Buck-related zones and FK in FK-related zones, do the lovebugs give Hobo nickels in Hobo nickel-related zones? --Quixorbl (talk) 15:43, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

Do the love bugs have the same 30 time limit as the mayfly bait? Specifically, in reference to currency drops across multiple zones.--landamus (talk) 05:44, 12 February 2015 (UTC)

Shows up in Sneaky Pete, not sure how to add that to the page in a way that makes sense. --Hugbert (talk) 04:38, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Beach bucks are at least 21 per day I didn't test further than that --Jamesernator (talk) 18:08, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

I've been seeing 9 Wal-mart gift certificates a day --Jamesernator (talk) 09:00, 5 November 2015 (UTC)

Love water-strider frequency?

As a rule, the water strider encounter has barely ever been common enough to be significant for me. But on my most recent ascension, I got it nearly every adventure, finishing the desert with dozens of turns of Ultrahydrated and never having visited the oasis. Capricious RNG, or could something have affected the frequency? Arancaytar (talk) 00:15, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

  • As a piece of anecdata: I've rarely run out of ultrahydrated since the lovebugs were introduced. I can't see any reason TPTB would have changed the behaviour now, so I think it's probably just capricious RNG. --Darkcodelagsniper (talk) 01:55, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Seconded. (directed at dcls) --Hellno (talk) 01:58, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

Love cricket item drop boost

Running a -105% item drop outfit, I got a love cricket message and an item dropped - so the cricket must give more than 5%.--Antipasta (talk) 22:09, 28 January 2016 (UTC)
