Talk:Lucky Adventures
Do we need this? I mean it's not a bad piece of work, but Ten-leaf clover basically has all this already. --Gymnosophist 18:09, 26 August 2006 (CDT)
- I think this page used to be unnecessary. There used to not even be any sense to the order of adventures (I just alphabetized them). Anyway, if Dehstil's current "styling proposal" goes through, this page will at least be linked to. The page ten-leaf clover sorts by location, this by title. --TheDotGamer 13:36, 21 January 2007 (CST)
Methinks this page could benefit from an update-- to make it tidier and more like Semi-Rare Adventures, instead, perhaps? --Southwest 02:06, 21 July 2008 (CDT)
- Seeing as the closest thing we have right now is Clover Adventures, and that's not all that useful, I agree and I nominate the person who came up with the idea to do the work! --Bagatelle 19:54, 21 July 2008 (CDT)

Stat Clover adventures
The wiki says the stat gain is capped at 300, but I clovered the bathroom today and got 313, then 281, then 286. Fluke? [Main stat is 199, btw] --Gothictranquility 18:56, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- No, this is expected behavior. The average is 300, but there is variance. --RoyalTonberry 19:03, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- Why say it's capped, then? Doesn't capped usually mean maximum? (I'm not sure I was even averaging 300, by the way, I was getting over it way more often than under it, with main stat of 435. I got up to 321 in the ballroom.)--Parmeisan 17:31, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
- It is a bit confusing. The gain varies with your main stat. The contribution of your main stat is capped. But there's an additional variance applied to how much you actually get from the adventure, which can exceed what the stated "cap" is.
- It was decided quite a while ago to simply put the most useful number on the page, and that's the average gain. It's not pedantically correct, but so what? Perhaps there should be a page documenting the exact mechanics of these adventures. --Starwed 18:02, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Retired?
Should we label this content "retired" now? --Baltar (talk) 18:56, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
Most likely. It would depend on what the new lucky adventures are classified as, but the two lists are likely going to be combined on a different page. Probably just 'Lucky Adventures'? --Volc (talk) 01:28, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
I went ahead and labelled the semi-rare adventures as Retired as the mechanics have largely been phased out. Not sure about this though as the mechanics are somewhat similar where instead of having a ten-leaf clover in your inventory, you only need the Lucky! intrinsic when adventuring in a specific location. I don't think combining the lists are appropriate though, since some adventures are just gone now for some specific areas.
I also went ahead and changed a few things: TypeIcon and TypeNote templates, retired the semi-rare for A-boo Peak, updated drops for The "Journalist" Lucky adventure in the A-boo Peak page, changed the text for Luck in the Kitchens, and got rid of the semi-rare combat in Cobb's Knob Kitchens. I'm assuming the Barracks is where you will find the elite guard for the outfit, or you might just get the entire outfit through a noncombat there. RobuxShooters (talk) 12:02, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
While clover adventures do seem to have most of the focus, there are some cases where the semi rare takes priority (presumably when the old clover adventure was of little to no value). The Outskirts of Cobb's Knob gives the knob goblin lunchbox the semi rare used to, while the old clover adventure seems to be a normal non-combat. The sleazy back alley is the same with the distilled fortified wine, and while I haven't checked yet, I'm almost certain that the haunted pantry is the same with tasty tarts.
The main question is whether the list of modern adventures should remain classified as clover adventures or be given a new classification. Between luckiness coming from at least one non-clover source so far (revamped astral energy drinks give luckiness) as well as the text saying that one feels less lucky, I believe they are better classified as 'Lucky Adventures'. I suspect new sources of luckiness will come about in the future, which may have nothing to do with clovers (even though the clover icon to represent such adventures is still suitable).
Regardless, the old clover adventure list is different enough that it should be retired/archived in one way or another, with a new list built from the new results (whether it is in a new page or in this one).--Volc (talk) 18:57, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
