Talk:MagiMechTech NanoMechaMech

From A KoL Wiki

I've been wearing mine for about 40 adventures now, and it seems to be showing a trend of slowly doing more damage. At first it would only do 1, then it moved to 2 and 3, and now it's hitting for 8. Anyone else experiencing this, or am I just getting RNG'd on its damage?--Joeisme 23:20, 6 December 2006 (CST)

  • I think it's an RNG effect; in the last few adventures it's done the following damage, in order, separated per adventure: 3, 2, 10, 3; 4, 4; 3; 8, 1, 4; 3, 9, 3, 10, 3. I also think that its damage seems very much to be dependent on the type of attack it uses; since I've started keeping track, here's that data: 1-3: laser (five+ times); 4-6: missiles (four times); 7-10: missile+laser (four+ times) --Id the Mildly Confused 01:25, 7 December 2006 (CST)
  • you didn't see my last message, I am an idiot...(and realy sorry, really)--Kewangji 10:27, 7 December 2006 (CST)
    • Don't sweat it, everyone makes mistakes. Me especially, heh. --Nifty Nobu 10:34, 7 December 2006 (CST)
  • It seems that this would be a good accessory to equip against the NS. About how often does it attack?--Jett 10:17, 8 December 2006 (CST)
    • Not nearly often enough for it to really be useful. --Emtu 15:31, 8 December 2006 (CST)
      • Compared to other alternatives, it could be useful.--Dehstil (t|c) 16:23, 8 December 2006 (CST)

References

Now, this may just be dumb of me, but I have to ask: The reference to the iPod Nano; are you sure it is referencing the Nano and the standard iPod, and not the iPod Mini? I seem to recall that the Nano's two main features were that it had a color screen while the Mini did not, and that it's solid-state memory system allowed for it to need to be rebooted much less than the Mini; it's one true drawback being that it didn't hold nearly as much memory.

The attack message, "Your MagiMechTech NanoMechaMech shoots a tiny, choking-hazard-sized missile at your opponent, doing 4-6 damage" is a reference to Mattel's Battlestar Galactica toys of the Viper, the Cylon Raider, the Scarab, and the Stellar Probe, which had small spring loaded missle launchers. These toys resulted in several injuries and was considered a choking hazard. A recall was announced by Mattel IN 1979 in response to pressure from child safety consumer groups.
