Total record for me now is 6/78, and I've gotten it with at least three different fish meat/sea veggie combinations(glistening/cucumber, beefy/avocado, and slick/carrot).
Received a fry from a the beefy>caviar>avocado type maki roll. For now, I've added said roll to the "obtained from" section; but I'm guessing it can be gained from any of the maki types, provided they are topped with caviar. I had the Warm Belly effect active at the time I received it. It's possible that the effect is necessary in order to incubate. Need more people willing to experiment in order to confirm that other combinations of things can drop the familiar. --Tainted Food Product 01:33, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Got one from a magical slippery snake roll. Looks like the cavier is the key ingredient, not any specific type of roll. took me 1 out of 16 to get one. No idea about a second one. --Ashallond 20:46, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm 0/69 (I'm pretty sure I ate more, but I didn't keep good records for a while). I *think* I'm really screwed, but I'm definitely trying every combination lately to see if there's something more to it. Confirmed that you don't need filling. Just got fry from glistening maki (with caviar), NO warm belly. It was my 12th.

The caviar on top makes it taste extra fishy.
