Talk:Modeling claymore
In chat someone was saying this removes 36 of EACH SIDE. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:31, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
It seems to not be a fixed number; after I used 1, the frat boys were on image 4, but the hippies were on image 5. So it removed 28-39 frat boys and 40-51 hippies. After using 2 more, both sides were on image 9, 96-113 gone. So it's probably something like 32-40 of each side for each one used. --TheArchivist (talk) 10:40, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- Well, so much for the idea of Wossnaming the war with 27 of these (leaving 28 of each side left). It would be realistic if the number killed were roughly proportional to the number remaining, due to density of people on the battlefield. I doubt that that mechanic is here, though. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 17:30, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- You could still Wossname with them. Just don't use too many claymores, carefully kill them off one at a time checking the image between combats. I doubt it's better than the method of three side quests on each side, but I'd need to do a bit of math to be sure. --WhimOrClutters (talk) 19:27, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
I think it goes lower than 36. I used one, it updated to 28 based on image, so 28-39 dead. I had to kill 5 hippies at 8 each to open the Orchard (checked each time). So the maximum I could have had, I believe, is 31 killed. I'd guess it's 30-40 as TPTB like round numbers. --Darzil (talk) 14:07, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Is the number killed affected by sidequests at all? Ribzer (talk) 02:27, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
I used 4, having completed 3 (frat boy) sidequests and 0 fights/kills on the battlefield. They killed (according to kolmafia):
1: 28 frat boys; 28 hippies
2: 36 frat boys; 24 hippies
3: 32 frat boys; 28 hippies
4: 36 frat boys; 34 hippies
Given that, I'm adjusting the bottom of the range down to 24. --angeltrouble (talk) 15:41, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
