Talk:Moon unit

"I don't think so mister thinks he can pull a fast one." Hahaha...very nice.--Jambosque 04:49, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- How'd you get that to show up? --Jimfromtx 04:52, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
I believe the name of this item could be a reference to Moon Unit Zappa?--R00k 05:02, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- Given the in-game plural (zappas), I'd say so--Mstieler 05:11, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- She was my thought, too. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 05:13, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
By the way, I've got 78 ascensions and got one of these. Maybe everyone out of HC/ronin got one? And although I've got Bad Moon permanently unlocked, that isn't on the drop down. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 05:27, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- I think it was given to any player with a moon sign. That is, if you're unascended, or if you dropped BM to do the event, you didn't get one (as posted on the boards by someone who did the later)--Erich 05:40, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- I'm in the midst of a Hardcore run, and I got one. Could its quest item status suggest that it will be a feature of future runs - or that could just be wishful thinking on my part.--Noskilz 06:08, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- When the event started I was in the middle of a Bad Moon ascension. I participated in the event to get the tattoo, then I resumed with my quests, broke the prism and stayed around to kill more skeletons. So far there is no sign of a moon unit in my inventory and no letter from Jick in my inbox. --Yatsufusa 06:28, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- Given what Jick says about the item, I think its given to players who are: 1)ascended under a sign not suited for their class (i.e. Myst character under Moxie sign); 2) Players which dropped their restriction (i.e. dropping HC/R). That's my inference at least. Xiexingwu 09:52, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, I got one, playing as an oxycore SC Wallaby (Muscle sign) having broken the prism during day 1 of the event (nice timing). If Xiexingwu's theory is correct, breaking the prism counts as dropping restrictions. Of course, since my situation is so similar to Yatsufusa's (except that I didn't kill skeletons before breaking the prism), it's hard to tell. --Noims 12:13, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- I was muscle sign as a seal clubber, so that's probably not it...also, I think I'm the same sign I was before the event, still a wallaby, for the extra exp. --Jimfromtx 07:53, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
- I'm the same sign, too, but the qualities of some of them have changed (according to http://kol.coldfront.net/thekolwiki/index.php/Moon_sign, this happened as of 5/17/11) -- for example, the Packrat used to have the extra meat drops; now it has extra item drops. Platypus used to have Mysticality gains, not Muscle gains. --Rubian77 13:22, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
- It may be interesting to test what happens when you change your current moon sign with access to gnomish gnomad's camp (with some gnome skills already purchased) to another one with access to different area. What will happen with your gnome skills (not permed only)? --NightBird 10:08, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
- Tested. You keep the skills. (Like it really matter at this point...) RegalStar 06:19, 23 January 2012 (CET)
