Talk:Mop the Floor with the Mops

From A KoL Wiki

The higher than n-formula for winning is incorrect, with 234 mysticality, I failed to deanimate 227 mops.--Kiltan 19:14, 24 August 2006 (CDT)

  • I have no information to confirm this, but I suspect, based on the way other places, like the Daily Dungeon work, there's a certain bit of RNG-based luck involved. --Alpaca (T/C) 20:08, 24 August 2006 (CDT)

Ah, that makes sense, but insofar there is no data on the wiki about that. If the RNG Is involved, then that still means that the current formula is incorrect. Maybe we should have a data-collection thing similar to the daily dungeon work?--Kiltan 23:44, 24 August 2006 (CDT)

This probably isn't the most helpful, but I just failed to deanimate 1528 mops with 1534 mysticality. Looks like there hasn't been much spading work done down here. With the new rewards it seems likely that there will be enough interest to do the data-collection necessary, now. --alacrity 05:07, 24 July 2007 (CDT)

One more data point: 531 Myst failed on 529 mops, level 88. --Circaea 20:33, 26 July 2007 (CDT)

Bingo! I figured it out. There's an MP requirement in addition to the Myst level. At 694 Myst, I failed on 650 mops, level 102, but I only had 376 of 1141 MP. When I loaded my MP well, I passed the test. Note, it doesn't drain or use any MP. --Krazedkris 09:13, 21 October 2007 (CDT)

  • Erm, you do realise that there's a random variation in the stat tests, in that you can fail the test, and go back in with the exact same stats, and then succeed? I'm not saying you're wrong, but how many trials did you do? --Bagatelle 09:19, 21 October 2007 (CDT)

Failed at depth 339 (expected average damage 3486) with mysticality 3802. That's 9% over the expected average. --Greycat 17:32, 30 April 2008 (CDT)

Failed at depth 177 (L^1.4 = 1403) with 1503 myst. That's 7.10% over L^1.4 or 6.98% over (L^1.4)+2. -Greycat 22:33, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Failed at depth 426 (L^1.4 = 4799) with 5121 myst. -Greycat 15:35, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Failed at depth 527 (L^1.4 = 6464) with 7045 myst (+9.0%). --Greycat 14:58, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Failed at depth 121 (L^1.4 = 824) with 884 myst (+7.3%). --Greycat 14:49, 15 September 2011 (CEST)
