Talk:Naughty Sorceress (3)
What happens if you lose to NS(3)? Do you need to restart from the first stage? --TheDujin (talk) 04:25, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
Did you know that NAUGHTY SORCERESS: FINAL FORM, with the letters rearranged, makes NIL NORMS FOR CHEF: TRY SAUSAGE? It has to mean something!
Er, wait. No, it doesn't have to mean anything afterall. :) Quadell 23:09, 10 July 2006 (CDT)
- For that matter A NAUGHTY SORCERESS yields CHERRY SNOT SAUSAGE. Hmmm.
- Could the bee perhaps be a refrence to earthbound? You are helped by a bee near the begining of the game, it can talk in a similar manner to this bee, and he seems to be the form "Taken on" by some hero from the future in Earthbound... --Slith Warlord 03:11, 26 November 2006 (CST)
- You slice it in half with a katana, so I was assuming it was a reference to Eric the Half-a-Bee. --Missingno 18:57, 6 December 2006 (CST)
Does the hovering sombrero increase stat gain more the higher your level for the NS? --Sdrawkcab 01:04, 10 February 2007 (CST)
I got 316 Strongness, 176 Magicalness, 166 Cheek, by the way. For a total of 658 substats with an 18 lb hovering sombrero. My stats were (at the end):
Muscle: 132 (128) +28 (out of 257) substats into the next muscle point Mysticality: 84 +78 (out of 169) substats into the next mysticality point Moxie:86 +69 (out of 173) substats into the next moxie point
I was using my multi, so don't bother pvping me. --Sdrawkcab 01:55, 10 February 2007 (CST)
This page needs a rewrite
wand is apparently not required
If it's true, we're gonna need a bunch of high-levelled spaders. Extremely high-levelled. aka, this will never be completely spaded. --Blade740 02:40, 16 February 2007 (CST)
If the Evil Teddy Bear has enough kills and experience, and with the spell, Entangling Noodles, I think that even if you aren't high leveled, you might be able to kill the third form of the NS. --Coolguy00001 18:48, 16 February 2007 (CST)
- It's been stated that the evil teddy bear's damage is not related to its kill count, but to the amount of damage the monster would have otherwise inflicted upon you. --Quietust (t|c) 18:53, 16 February 2007 (CST)
- Yes, I know that, but I was saying that if the Evil Teddy Bear had enough experience, it might block attacks for more of the battle. That way, you wouldn't get killed because the Evil Teddy Bear reaches 0 exp. too quickly. --Coolguy00001 (t|c) 22:14, 16 February 2007 (CST)
I have to wonder about initiative. One user in that topic said, "The NS's initiative doesn't work like any other monsters, you always lose it unless you know the trick, and once you know the trick you'll never lose it (works on forms 2 and 3)." What's the trick? All we really need to spade are ETB damage and initiative. And maybe how her stats are computed, though that seems like a bit much to ask. The rest is just large amounts of damage, like when he killed the tower monsters. --Missingno 18:08, 27 February 2007 (CST)
- When you say this do you mean that the NS always gets the jump on you in the third fight and wins unless you have the wand? --Memnarch 20:38, 2 May 2007 (CDT)
This might be a coincidence, but I got a total of 1337 substat for killing her last time, using my pickle. This time, I killed her with the sombrero, and got a total of 1337 again. Noting that Sdrawkcab got 658, which is less than half of what I got, is there something to be spaded here, or is this some kind of bizarre coincidence that happens to defy the game mechanics of stat gain? --Spaz102 16:17, 4 April 2007 (CDT)
Pokemon reference
The Wand of Nagamar sounds like the Pokémon Magmar, but the entry on the references tab mistakenly said he was known for sending back attacks and causing them to misfire. The Pokémon in question (who causes attacks to backfire) is Wobuffet, who's name does NOT sound like Nagamar. So it's most likely a coincidence.

MCD
There was talk a while back about having the Naughty Sorceress drop things with the MCD at specific levels like certain other bosses do. Has anybody put this into testing since NS-13?--Yiab 10:35, 28 July 2007 (CDT)
Lack of attack messages
You're fighting The Naughty Sorceress (3)
"Dang it!" you shout. "How many times do I have to kill you? This battle has taken over a half an hour and there's no save point!"
"Ha! You will never defeat me!" The Sorceress cackles. There is a muffled *POP* and a slightly greasy smell as the apparition vanishes and is replaced by a nasty-looking floating sausage.
You win the fight!
Grog smiles approvingly.
You gain 247 Strengthliness.
You gain a Muscle point!
You gain 140 Magicalness.
You gain 122 Chutzpah.
You gain a Moxie point!
- Had normallish equipment on, except for the fish scaler. Gront 15:54, 16 December 2007 (CST)
This happened to me, too. Weird. Exhibit A 15:08, 17 December 2007 (CST)
- Same thing happened to me too.

Happened to me as well - I'd hit her with a Vivala-boosted critical in her last form, but my familiar was a starfish with the magnifying glass equipment. Is this a bug? --hollow49 16;40, 20 December 2007 (GMT)
- I'mma thinkin' they broke the third form, and since it's crimbo and everyone is farming/dodec'ing, they haven't really noticed or care much, yet. Gront 16:39, 21 December 2007 (CST)
I just encountered this myself.

Just had the same thing happen. No Wand of Nagmar in use and this is all that showed up when I reached the third form:
"Ha! You will never defeat me!" The Sorceress cackles. There is a muffled *POP* and a slightly greasy smell as the apparition vanishes and is replaced by a nasty-looking floating sausage.

- Killing the NS 3rd forum using bleed damage from sawblade fragments. I did this with my multi Magecrafter just today. The bleed carried over from the second form. Could this be a bug (carried over bleed damage)? --Jokermage 09:13, 26 December 2007 (CST)
- Moved this comment to the appropriate section. What you're seeing is the wand killed her, but due to the bug described in this section it didn't print anything. The bleed damage didn't matter -- she has (at least) 100K hit points in sausage form. --PlatypusNinja 12:27, 26 December 2007 (CST)

This just happened to me too, on my multi. I was using gas balloons to keep her stunned, and I noticed that the stun carried over from the first form to her second form. Maybe there was interference from that, were any of you using stunning items? Airpi 12:55, 17 January 2008 (CST)

Hit Points
on the Talk:Slime_stack page, there are some damages with slime stacks with a V mask. These lead me to believe that the NS form 3 has an HP of 10,000,000. Eleron did 1.95 million damage (1.3 million adjusted for V mask), so 1.3 million is 10-20% of her HP. He then did 2,173,501 damage (1.45 million adjusting for V mask). So, if she has 10 million HP, that first stack would bring her down to 8,050,000 HP, and 10-20% of that is [800k-1.6 mil], so 1.45 million is also in the range. Could do more testing on this, but I think that's enough to say she's got 10 million HP. That seems like something Jick would do. --MindlessGames 02:13, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
- If anyone cares, she actually has exactly 9,999,999 HP, and is unaffected by ML. --MindlessGames 09:19, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
Drops?
So today, after the Valhalla revamp, I received the following message from Jick:
- Hello there!
- The Naughty Sorceress forgot to drop these when you last defeated her! Enjoy!
- Unicorns and ponies,
- Your Pal Jick

You acquire 3 cans of Breathetastic™ Premium Canned Air
I'm guessing that the Naughty Sorceress now drops, umm, something? --Baltar 18:13, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
- Yup. Instead of ascension awards, you get them at the end of the run. -- sulfur 18:16, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
L13 karma
Instant Karma drops at L13, including if you hit L14 and delevel back down to L13 before fighting her. I just did it so I have first hand experience. Might be worth noting on the page. --PC_Goldman 01:12, 12 July 2011 (CEST)
- edit made. --Evilkolbot 13:18, 12 July 2011 (CEST)
Is she killable or not?
The notes section of the page says that the battle is instantly lost if you enter the battle with the third form without a Wand of Nagamar. It then immediately contradicts this by mentioning multiple instances in the past of people killing her third form without a wand, and that combat is limited to 30 turns. Which of these is currently true? Is it 100% instant failure without a wand, or is it like tower monsters - killable by nonstandard means, but fatal if she lands an attack? TekLaris 23:35, 30 April 2012 (CEST)
- She is killable if you can stop her first attack and keep her stun-locked while dealing the 10 million damage required to take her out. It's been done in HC as well as in Normal. Not the optimal means of taking her down, but fairly funny nonetheless. She is supposed to have immunity to all attacks, but it is apparently a bug with how the third stage of the fight gets loaded in that she does not have immunities. --RoyalTonberry 01:50, 1 May 2012 (CEST)
Miss Message
I'm not sure where to put it, but The Crown of Ed the Undying lets you see its miss message:
- It tries to you in the thigh, but misses.
That's the default miss message, so I'm not sure what to do about it. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 05:30, 5 January 2016 (UTC)
