Talk:Ninja Snowflake
I've done a little bit of playing with the Ninja Snowflake, and here are the damage values I've seen:
- 13 lbs: 18, 26, 25, 24, 23
- 14 lbs: 27, 14, 19, 28, 28, 27
- 15 lbs: 19, 28, 19, 24, 29, 15, 27, 27, 23
- 16 lbs: 25, 17, 26, 16, 22, 31, 18, 28
- 17 lbs: 18, 23, 23, 32, 20
Of course, that's very little data, but it looks like the range is, for weight W, between W and 2W. Any more input is appreciated. --Azimuth 17:25, 16 January 2007 (CST)
Note: After doing more with it, up through 25 lbs, I can confirm it's all within the W - 2W range. --Azimuth 11:14, 22 January 2007 (CST)
I've noted that it occasionally does do more damage than 2X--I'm pretty sure that is only for critical hits, but that needs confirmation.--Quarklop 09:29, 5 October 2007 (CDT)
- Any idea how often it acts? If so, that would be nice to see on the article page as well. --J12601 07:22, 26 January 2007 (CST)
- Unfortunately, I only copied down damage values, not frequency. I'd say anecdotally it's "about half the time," but I really don't have anything better.--Azimuth 15:54, 29 January 2007 (CST)
I have been keeping track of number of times hit per attacks and this was the data I acquired so far:
Weight......# of Attacks...# of Hits........% Hit
10-pound...........31..............11...........0.35483871
11-pound...........35..............13...........0.371428571
12-pound...........50..............11...........0.22
13-pound...........91..............34...........0.373626374
14-pound..........113.............21...........0.185840708
15-pound...........94..............30...........0.319148936
16-pound...........89..............25...........0.280898876
17-pound..........107.............37...........0.345794393
19-pound...........40.............15............0.375
It seems to successfully attack about 30% of the time. --Quarklop 13:59, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
It appears to be good at obstacle courses. Am I right? --Sdrawkcab 01:07, 28 January 2007 (CST)
I just found out that it's good at everything EXCEPT Scavenger Hunt. Can anyone change the page to reflect this? --Sdrawkcab
Just an aesthetic thing: on other pages the damage formula is described right in the hit line (<name> pokes it in the eye with its stick, doing X damage.(Range at 25 pounds: 18-32)). Took me a second to notice there was a formula description in notes because I expected the above. --Nog lorp 18:03, 4 February 2007 (CST)

Up to 25 pounds, the attack rate appears to be 2*weight, but from 30-45, it's 2*weight - 10. Not sure why, or if its related to the buffs necessary to get the snowflake up to 45. (I did not use any of the familiar buffing skills; I instead buffed with a combination of the icicle katana, Heavy Petting, Green Tongue, Heart of Green, and bar whip/tiny plastics.)--Foggy 08:07, 29 January 2008 (CST)
coming back to this, I'm not sure how I missed the step function...but similar to lime, owl, etc., the attack rate is a step function, not a consistent or scaling rate of attack.--Foggy 09:43, 28 April 2008 (CDT)
