Talk:One Very Clear Eye

From A KoL Wiki

I'm almost sure this gives +item drops. The semirare adventures spaded so far give the following:

  • 5 items that give +50 elemental damage
  • 5 items that give maximal elemental resistance
  • 3 items that give +100% stat
  • Food
  • Booze
  • Food&Booze
  • +melee damage
  • +Familiar weight
  • Healing
  • A Combat item
  • +meat gains

As you can see, there's a whole lot of symmetry going on in these items, this leads me to believe that there must be both an MP regenerating semi-rare item, and a +item drops semi-rare. Since this one definitely doesn't regenerate MP, I'm willing to bet it adds to item drops, almost certainly +100%. --Trumpetdoor 03:12, 15 July 2007 (CDT)

While I agree with your logic, it still seems possible for additional semirare adventures to appear, and fill the +item gains slot. So I'll still speculate about other uses, namely the description mentioning "very well hydrated" - has anyone tested adventuring in the desert to see if this works as hydration?Teffania 07:24, 16 July 2007 (CDT)

it is a +item drops for sure. I'm farming for duct tape (to get the tattoo) and w/o the eyedrops i got 1-2 per day, and with the eyedrops i got 7(!) yesterday and 5 today. --Shualdon 00:21, 25 July 2007 (CDT)

  • I've been consistently getting 1 per day without eyedrops, so I tried with eyedrops today. I still only got one duct tape. I also completed that sidequest as a Hippy, if that makes any difference (knowing me, it probably limits me to 1 per day). --Quietust (t|c) 23:15, 26 July 2007 (CDT)

I tried in the bean bat chamber for ten rounds, and got 3 beans(expecting 5 on average), which means it is not +100% item drop. Meat drop was unexceptional as was experience. Possibly not implemented yet? --Shoveller 19:18, 23 August 2007 (CDT)

I tried it today and got 10/10. So it looks like it is Item drop. Whether it is less than or more than 100% need to be determined. --Shoveller 19:15, 8 September 2007 (CDT)

Spading

OK, so first I fought 50 beanbats and got 50 beans, so the boost is (probably) at least 100%. The remaining 50 I spent at the goatlet and got 16 of each goat (the other two adventures were opening the goatlet and the semi-rare). The item results there were as follows:

13 cheese, 81.25% drop rate, 103% increase
9 milk, 56.25% drop rate, 181% increase
6 whiskey, 37.5% drop rate, 67% increase

Now, I didn't get 16 cheeses, to the increase rate is less than 150%. In fact, some work over on the Hardcore OxygeNation Forums showed the rate to be less than 130%. So I went back in with +44% item drops from equipment and adventured another 100 times, and got the following:

41 dairy goats, 31 drunk goats, and 28 saber-toothed goats
41 cheese, 100% drop rate, 106% extra from eyedrops
25 milk, 61% drop rate, 161% extra from eyedrops
15 whiskey, 48% drop rate, 71% extra from eyedrops

Now, these variances are most likely dues to the small sample size. I think it's safe to say for now that the boost is about 100%. I don't have enough meat to do any more testing. --EEpiccolo 15:31, 9 October 2007 (CDT)
