Talk:Orcish Frat House
You are able to get a different set of adventures while adventuring in frat warrior fatigues.
deodorant is (rarely) dropped at the orcish frat house, but isn't listed against any of these adventures. Please keep an eye out for which adventure it is.
- I just had deodorant drop from a pledge.--Hollowleg 15:52, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
The Combat Frequency note can't be right, because if you don't have 5 spanish flies you can still get the I Just Wanna Fly adventure, right? Or is I Just Wanna Fly a one-timer? If so, it should be labeled as such. --Iason 14:24, 30 June 2006 (CDT)
Looks like the graphics have changed on the frat boys. They have the smirk, like the new version of the outfit.--Dorf 23:39, 1 February 2007 (CST)
- Yes, but they don't actually use the [60x100] outfit image - the [100x100] adventure image fratboy.gif itself was updated to match the new outfit, and it was updated on the wiki last week. Perhaps your browser had cached the old image. --Quietust (t|c) 16:28, 5 February 2007 (CST)
With NS13, has the quest changed? I've spent 30 adventures trying to get the fly trap - noshow--Grimdel 16:50, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
- I just got it at level 9. The level 12 council quest changes the frat house and filthy hippy locations, though, so you'd better redeem all of your Spanish Flies before you level up. --Yarble 12:37, 26 June 2007 (CDT)
- While wearing the frat army outfit, I fought a Hippy Spy. Sorry, I don't remember much more than that.--Andy00 23:52, 30 June 2007 (CDT)
The pre-fight adventure just before you fight The Man is entitled The Orcish Frat House, which redirects here, obviously. What to do about this? --Sparksol 02:19, 1 July 2007 (CDT)
This page is missing a LOT of undisguised adventures.--Etliay 05:01, 2 July 2007 (CDT)
I got the hat and frat paddle as non-combat adventures that appear to be one-time adventures, possibly. Already had the shorts from the White Citadel road, but I'm willing to bet they are obtained in the same way. Don't know if you can still get the parts of the outfit as combat drops here; I didn't get any in the dozen or so adventures I spent. --Frosty Beverage 12:18, 6 July 2007 (CDT)
- In my experience, they're not one-timers, but they don't show up if you already have the appropriate outfit piece. You can get them again if you closet/sell the pieces you got. Anyone else have any data points? --Ragnok 17:47, 26 February 2008 (CST)
In Filthy Hippy Disguise, I received other food items in the Fratacombs adventure. Here's the C/P: You acquire an item: knob ka-bobs You acquire an item: melted Jell-o shot
It seemed as though when I was trying to get the Frat Boy Ensemble, even after 40+ adventures not a single piece of the outfit would drop. Then I completed the Spanish Fly quest, and almost instantly pieces started dropping (2nd adventure after). Can anyone verify that quest is required to get this outfit to drop in this location? --dugwyler
- Sounds more like coincidence. I've gotten the outfit lots of times without even starting the quest, and there is no real completion to it anyway, you can keep going back and getting more... --Phelyan 07:56, 5 September 2008 (CDT)
Judging by the bounty in this area, the combat frequency should be 85%, since there are 34 bounties and the numbers for the other bounty quests are calculated so that the quest takes 40 adventures. If the combat frequency is 85%, then the quest takes 34/0.85=40 adventures; if the frequency were 80% or 90% then there'd be 32 or 36 bounties.--DarkerLine 23:22, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
What happens at level 9?
I'm confused by that NeedsSpading tag. What happens at level 9 that needs spading?? Nothing on the page says anything about level 9, other than that tag. --Flargen 23:29, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- The outfit part adventures don't occur until level 9. Which, I guess, should be noted... --BagatelleT/C 00:11, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
- After a few hundred turn without a noncombat @ +15% encounter, and having gotten a noncombat @ +10% Encounter, I'm reasonably certain that the post-level-9 Combat chance is 85%.
--Metraxis 18:05, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
Following up, b/c for some reason the needs spading tag was still here: if you have the outfit, there are no NCs (ran +20%NC for 20 turns). Closeting outfit pieces as they drop, NC showed up at +10%C, but didn't show up for 80 turns at +15%C. So, NC rate is 85%, if you don't have the outfit.--Top1214 (talk) 07:11, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
Sigma Omega
I'm wondering if there's any meaning to the "Sigma Omega" designation on the Frat House. As far as I can tell, it's not a real fraternity, and all of the real Greek organizations that I turned up beginning with "Sigma Omega" were sororities. So is there some kind of in-joke here, or were those just the first two Greek letters that came to mind when the artwork was made? MolotovH 18:27, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
Farming
Given the high value of deodorant and beer nuts(currently 2k each) this zone could make a decent farming spot for DB's & AT's whom wear their nemesis garb for the boosted pickpocketing chance. With +183% item drop gear on using both +item combos for a total of +233%, the numbers show an average yield of 458 meat per combat prior to factoring in pickpocketing. With 2 pickpocket attempts: ~30% chance of a 2k value beer nut= +600. For a grand total of 1058 average meat per turn given all the numbers in the wiki are correct. I currently don't have access to this zone, anyone wanna test it? Judge Omega 16:33, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
And that was just from the items, autoselling all but the deodorant and beer nuts. From the meat drops it would add an additional 40ish meat per turn depending on your +meat. Judge Omega 16:40, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
Well i got a DB into the frat house now and im having several issues. 1) the 30% estimate on pickocketing beer nuts was way off, preliminary results are under 20%. and 2) Getting combos off is difficult as they kill the weak combatants, even with ML cranked up. Judge Omega 15:42, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
No hard numbers yet but absolutely comparable to castle in the sky. Rave steal is a real boon. I'm using the following script to maximize gains(combo subroutines excluded):
pickpocket if !match "You deftly slip your fingers into your opponent's pocket and grab something." pickpocket if !match "You deftly slip your fingers into your opponent's pocket and grab something." call loosen endif endif if !match eodorant call ifind endif attack repeat
Judge Omega 16:04, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
600 turns in, iv stolen 88 beer nuts. Thats 15.5%. I think its safe to assume the 15% chance to pickpocket listed on the main page included double pickpocketing and not a single pickpocket. Combat encounter rate has been 100% after my first few dozen turns. As a side note, iv found 129 deodorants with a 30lb Grouper Groupie, item find song playing, and +27% item find. (the rest of my gear is mp regen and +ml so combos complete) Ill stop when i reach 2000 turns and post my final results. Judge Omega 18:39, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
