Talk:Outfit/archive
It's been confirmed on the radio show that all the outfits that already had effects, like Star Garb and Furry Suit, do not have new/additional effects. And that unlocking an area doesn't count as an effect. -GG Crono 14:37, 28 June 2006 (CDT)
That makes sense to me, it would seem unbalancing if stuff like Yendorian Finery and the 8-Bit outfit gave abilities outside of their respective areas. Does this hold true for outfits that open up NPC Store, such as Hippy Disguise and Elite Guard Uniform? --Shoptroll 20:59, 2 July 2006 (CDT)
War Hippy Fatigues
- Another NS13 outfit, the War Hippy Fatigues. Consists of the Reinforced beaded headband, lead pipe, bullet-proof corduroys and round purple sunglasses, not all of which have articles themselves yet either. Monsieur 20:39, 26 June 2007 (CDT)
Wasted!
This table seems soo long and hard to read becuase of all the wasted space in the first two columns due to the large size of the equipment column. (not to mention a lot of stuff is improperly capitalized). WOuld the following be a more efficient use of space? --JRSiebz (☎|§|‡) 21:54, 29 June 2006 (CDT)

There is a new outfit - "Glad Bag Glad Rags". One part is the giant plastic fork from the 10th level "trash" quest.--Grimdel 21:53, 26 July 2006 (PDT)
Custom Outfits
Are we missing an explanation of Custom Outfits, or am I just missing it? If we don't, we should add it, probably on a new page. Any volunteers? P.S. You get a cool message if you click the Save as Custom Outfit button without having any text in the Outfit Name Box: "Your outfit must have a first name. Whether it's O S C A R or not is your business." --Gymnosophist 13:31, 25 August 2006 (CDT) Gah - I'm totally blind - it was right there in front of me - nevermind! --Gymnosophist 13:33, 25 August 2006 (CDT)
Non-Outfit Synergies
- It appears that wearing the snake shield with the serpentine sword or wearing the snarling wolf shield with the lupine sword doubles the sword's enchantment (to +20 ML or +18 spooky damage respectively). This is not an outfit as far as I know -- there's no avatar or tattoo reported -- but does such an equipment synergy deserve to be reported here? Are there other examples of this? --DirkDiggler 10:58, 7 December 2006 (CST)
New Clown Outfit
I got a new clown outfit by wearing the foolscap fool's cap, clown shoes, polka-dot bowtie, big red clown nose, and bloody clown pants. However, it was not shown what the outfit's name was, but I still got a new avatar and a new [tattoo]]. Can someone find out the name? --Coolguy00001 14:01, 14 January 2007 (CST)
I don't know the name, but I do know the tattoo is "clown.gif" and the avatar is "clowncostume.gif". I've also written the pretentious artist's message at talk:Tattoo --Temporary man 17:04, 14 January 2007 (CST)
I can confirm it's named the Terrifying Clown Suit. The line "Outfit: Terrifying Clown Suit" appears under your equipment on the character sheet. That's the same page as your elemental resistances, if you're unsure. --Temporary man 17:26, 14 January 2007 (CST)
Besides the fact about the equipment not stating they are part of an outfit and not having the equip screen list the outfit in the dropdown menu there are two things unique about this outfit: (1) It's the first outfit to have more than four pieces of equipment, and (2) It's the first outfit to use more than one accessory (it actually uses all three). Therefore, this causes problems both on this page (Outfit) and the template page Template:Outfit. This page only allows for four pieces of equipment (and would look rather ugly if there were five columns and only the fifth was used for one outfit) and the template currently only allows for one accessory. --TheDotGamer 19:43, 14 January 2007 (CST)
Nice try, though.
- If you try to equip a custom outfit that has a "not in hardcore" item in it you get this message "This outfit contains an item which is not equippable in hardcore. Nice try, though." Is this worthy of a spot on the article page?--CSDragon 17:30, 10 June 2007 (CDT)
- yes, it is. it should also go on the game messages page, probably after "Trying to equip an outfit that doesn't exist". --Evilkolbot 17:37, 10 June 2007 (CDT)
Halloween drops?
'Twould be nice if the table listed the Halloween drop for each outfit, perhaps in the same box as the overall outfit effect, for the sake of completeness. == Old Ned 22:17, 4 July 2007 (CDT)

Personally, I like it. But it's a pain in the ass to code it. Perhaps I'm making it more complicated than it is? I've never really tried making fancy tables in the wiki. Is there a way to make the avatars always be side-by-side? Let me know what y'all think. Also, feel free to "tweak" it in any way possible. I based this arrangement on JRSiebz's original structure, I just added some stuff and moved things around. --jupider 22:27, 9 July 2007 (CDT)
- Hmm. I love how it looks, but the code is a nightmare and a half to visually parse. I'll see how much it can be cleaned up while retaining the layout. For starters, the stackitem and inlineitem templates would help quite a bit... --TechSmurf 22:57, 9 July 2007 (CDT)
- Big visual improvement... no more hanging cells. I actually think this is slightly more intuitive to code than the way it is currently -- spans in one dimension versus two (aside from the header, which won't need updating anyway). The first row is always outfit, first item, first enchantment, tattoo, candy, and outfit effect, and every row thereafter is just item/effect. It would even be easier to code if one were willing to go the less aesthetic route and display the outfit/tattoo/candy adjacently. --Bagatelle 16:54, 10 July 2007 (CDT)
- Okay, I'm currently coding ALL the outfits, in order according to Outfits by number in an edit window using the "Show preview" button, saving it to a notepad file as I go. When I'm done (gimme a few days, at least...) I'll copy/paste it into the article and that'll be that. If you have any suggestions/changes, please feel free to comment here or contact me via KoL chat/kmail. Just so you know, I am using InlineItem and eliminating the bullets to just use a regular html break instead. I'm also listing the individual item's Power along with the stat requirements and effects. Wish me luck!! --jupider 23:00, 10 July 2007 (CDT)
- Now y'all can view my progress on my talk page. Oh joy!! --jupider 17:18, 11 July 2007 (CDT)
Trying the equipment as StackItem instead of InlineItem. I have to admit, I like it better. Avatars are aligned vertically here (at least for me, anyway), but for some reason they are horizontal in the "beta" version. Probably something to do with margins?
I'm going to pick this up where Jupider left off. I'll add in all the new outfits, as well. --TechSmurf 12:54, 9 October 2007 (CDT)
- Wow. I completely forgot I had started on this. Good job. And thanks. --jupider 21:58, 21 January 2008 (CST)
New Outfit Pull-down-menu Layout
I was about to equip my Knob Goblin Elite Guard Uniform, but when I opened the pull-down menu for outfits I noticed a new style. My outfits we're divided into "Normal Outfits" and "Custom Outifts" as per usual, but these headers have become bold, and italicized. Also, (I can't remember if this is new or not), but the outfit names are indented. I have only noticed this as of January 11th, 2008. If this is old, tell me I'm stupid, and to shut up.--Knobula 00:03, 11 January 2008 (CST)
New/Missed Crimborg Outfit?
Posted by symian in /hardcore tonight, the following two images were found:
Either these were intended for the current Crimborg Assault Armor or there's something else floating around there undiscovered --Bwned 00:19, 11 January 2008 (CST) •i sent a message to jick on the radio asking if it was red herring or not, with no response. --Symian 05:05, 11 January 2008 (CST)

i just found the tattoo, the conspiracy deepens! --Symian 05:12, 11 January 2008 (CST)
Has there been any word on this? --Plater (t|c) 21:48, 29 January 2008 (CST)
Could this be for the Crimborg stuff (gloves, boots, and vibrating sword) in stead of the crimborg assault armor? But the gloves+vibrating sword would make 2 weapons, and it all doesnt really make sense. Probably its just some unused tattoos that Jick decided to change last minute?--TehChozenOne 00:35, 5 February 2008 (CST)
Looks like this was finally cleared up, a year and a half later - Skully just didn't like the original, and asked Jick to make a new one. - The Wrassedragon 13:02, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Hobopolis Outfits
With Hobopolis' arrival, new outfits have arrived, but one has brought about some issues: The Vile Vagrant Vestments. Now, the Vestments consists of an off-hand item, pants, and an accessory, which means it does NOT follow the norm of having two of the three standards (hat, weapon, pants). This makes the Vestment able to be worn at the SAME TIME as the Yendorian outfit. So all of the new outfits need to be added to the list, and possibly we need to alert the staff to this.--PsychoBoy 15:56, 19 June 2008 (CDT)
What sorts of things happen when you wear multiple outfits at the same time? Anyone checked? Misstrain 22:50, 19 June 2008 (CDT)
We probably won't find out for a while. I'm sure some spadey clan will get some characters the full outfits, but it might take a week or two to get organized. Killerrabbit
I still say we need to alert the staff to this, since outfits are supposed to be designed for only one at a time.--PsychoBoy 21:10, 23 June 2008 (CDT)
I have equipped the Vile Vagrant Vestments and the Yendorian Finery at the same time. Regardless of what order you equip them in, or equip the individual items in, or what accessory slots you put the accessories in, the outfit shown in your avatar is the Vile Vagrant one. I have not yet spaded out whether the Yendorian effect of non-combat increasing is showing up when they are both on. --YankaTexee 13:12, 5 July 2008 (CDT)
Custom Weirdness
- i have a custom outfit with a bludgeon main and a shill off-hand. when go to equip it, though, the weapons are switched, with the bludgeon off-hand. i've tried saving the outfit with the items the other way round, but i can't get the bludgeon to equip in the main slot. am i missing something? --Evilkolbot 13:52, 3 September 2008 (CDT)
- Category:Bugs, especially DFSS. It's been reported on the forums, long, long ago (too lazy to drag up the posts). Apparently they don't care... ---Bagatelle
Brimstone Outfit
It appears just like the Stainless Steel Suit and Plexiglass Paraphernalia there's a brimstone outfit:

Wiki Warnings
I just added three new outfits, and each time I got the "Your edit includes new external links. To help protect against automated spam, please type the two words ..." message. But none of them had new external links. What gives? --Club (#66669) (Talk) 22:48, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- A known unknown, so to speak. Not sure what's causing it, might need to contact one of the coldfront admins about it. --Flargen 22:54, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Attempting to Standardize
The formatting for things seems incredibly inconsistent to me, so I'm gonna try to clean it up a bit. Got the first part done, but I'm gonna wait for Admin okay-ing before going further; I've gotten in trouble before (in other places) for going crazy OCD like this without permission. --LegendaryBard 21:28, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- What did you have in mind? --TechSmurf 22:29, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- Just stuff along the lines of making everything look similar and having like links lead to like pages. For instance, a lot of the +<stat> entries lead to the <stat> page rather than <stat> modifiers. A good number of things completely lack links. Couple things I'm not sure on are where "+X to all attributes" should link to, where "+X% chance of Spell Critical Hit" should link to, and where "X Resistance to all Elements" should link to. --LegendaryBard 03:54, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
