Talk:Parseable Monster Statistics
From A KoL Wiki
- Data Format:
- Each line starts with two spaces, and goes out with two bangs (!!)
- fields are separated by pipes (|) and consist of "property=value"
- There are currently two values that have structure: eltattacks and drops. Those are lists that look like "(foo1:bar1,foo2:bar2,...fooN:barN)". Note that in the case of drops the fooN are not necessarily unique.
- initconf gives the HCO-assigned confidence in the initiative figures; 0=none, 1=gathered from monsterstats automation, 2=gathered from spading.
- xp and level are not listed; xp = atk/5, level = (atk+def)/2.
- elements: (1:hot, 2:cold, 3:spooky, 4:stench, 5:sleaze)
- scales gives the (very speculative) offset for that monster's stats vs. yours. (i.e. scales=5 implies its attack is your muscle +5).
- Right now the combat frequency and meat drops are slightly out of date.

Out of date?
I was going to go and create a data page for each monster, and I was planning to use this as my guide, but I'm worried it might be out of date, as it was created when NS11 existed. If anybody knows what's accurate and what isn't, or knows where I can find some more up-to-date data, it would be greatly appreciated. If not, I'll use it anyway, but I'd rather get everything correct first time. --Melon 15:54, 8 May 2008 (CDT)
- Up-to-date information can be found here. That is the result of a current project being run in conjunction with both AFH and HCO, and is constantly being updated.--QuantumNightmare 17:38, 8 May 2008 (CDT)
- Ah, thanks very much. I think it would be nice to have a Monster Level stat available to place on the data pages. Does anybody know how I can sort that? Or is it unnecessary, because Attack = ML? Also, what do you all think is the best way of organising the defense? It would be nice to include both the base value and the typical +0 ML variance values. --Melon 06:38, 9 May 2008 (CDT)
- Attack = ML. I wrote ML because that is what is being explicitly spaded, kittiwake is updating his guide with this info and calling it attack. Same difference. Regarding defence... that's a harder value to record. Base defence is the only important value since you can use it to calculate the range of defence variance for all values of +ML (including +0ML), but again base defence is never encountered in-game. That's up to the wiki to decide what format to use, I'll keep updating my guide with both values.--QuantumNightmare 11:03, 9 May 2008 (CDT)
