Cool message when opening chest
I just opened 57 chests at once and got the following.
You open the chests... You gain 8,680 Meat. You acquire 37 super-spikey hair gels (In a row?!) You acquire 34 soft green echo eyedrop antidotes You acquire 40 cocoa eggshell fragments You acquire 43 tiny houses You acquire 24 phonics downs You acquire 31 scrolls of drastic healing

I opened 13 chests and under the Cocoa Shell Fragment, it says: You acquire 11 cocoa eggshell fragments (That's ridiculous. It's not even funny.)

chest drop rate data
I opened 111 chests individually and received 2 to 5 items (and 100 to 200 meat) each time.
also, here's a little table of the results from opening 17,000 chests:

SC Runs Made (somewhat) Easier
When you open a chest, you can get a variety of items, many of which can help players immensely due to HP/MP restoration or removal of status effects, etc. Note that when you start a new SC run you get 20 pulls from Hagnk's storage a day; so if you were to pull 20 Chests...
In terms of the meat you can gain, taking 20K a day from storage is far better. However, pulling Chests is better than each individual item since each Chest can result in about 4 items, so you're in reality getting more items this way. And, free Phonics Downs help just about all classes, since it does a moderate amount of HP/MP which will nearly fill low-levels to the brim.

The autosell value of this item is 108 Meat. The TV Tropes page for KoL claims this is an example of the 108 trope. If true, that's a reference. I am not familiar enough with the FF games to know if 108 shows up there. Does it, making that a valid observation? --Club (#66669) (Talk) 07:54, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
