Talk:Platinum Yendorian Express Card
Said to have been found in the DoD by ManWithThePan....make your fortune while you can.--Veistran 00:47, 23 July 2006 (CDT)
Well, Jin and I are pretty sure we know how it's obtained. I have to wait until my next run to be sure, though. --Thræryn 15:29, 23 July 2006 (CDT)
According to Xeno, it's an ultra-rare.--Buttons 15:34, 23 July 2006 (CDT)
- This isn't surprising given that nobody else seems to have found one yet and it being an artifact in Nethack. --Veistran 16:15, 23 July 2006 (CDT)
From one of ManWithThePan's posts in the forums, it looks like it increases the duration of all the effects on you. (note the 25 turns of a snowcone effect). I would post the link, but the captcha software doesn't like me. --Eyejayarr 03:46, 24 July 2006 (CDT)
See the usage text in ManWithThePan's forum post.--DirkDiggler 17:43, 24 July 2006 (CDT)
Ok by some strange fluke I managed to end up just getting one of these items. I'm going to hold on to it for now, it doesn't look like many people have them.--Spud of Doom 23:47, 17 December 2006 (CST)
found around noonish BST in DoD, about 50 adv spent there. (dunno if this sort of data is useful, if not please remove) --Snarl 06:43, 12 August 2007 (CDT)
Pulverize
It's entirely possible that one of the Dev-team gave Crovax a specially-made Platinum Card, ala the blank white card pants that Riff gave him to smash.--Katarani 18:15, 8 August 2006 (CDT)
- Actually, the PYEC didn't appear until long AFTER Crovax1234's pulverize-a-thon. --Quietust 20:53, 8 August 2006 (CDT)
- Crovax's pulverize-a-thon isn't over. --Ricket 21:18, 8 August 2006 (CDT)
- Crovax's pulverize-a-thon will only end when he smashes his Wad of Crovacite, one would figure.--Katarani 22:40, 8 August 2006 (CDT)
Well, now he has smashed his Wad of Crovacite. It smashes into another Wad of Crovacite.--Jubbers 16:19, 22 September 2006 (CDT)
Locked Doors
I've been using the PYEC for a while, and it's always opened Locked Doors in the DD without any traps being sprung. Not a huge sample, but I'll keep using it. Stickyhands 17:47, 14 January 2007 (CST)
- Thank you for checking. How many doors have you tried thus far?--Dehstil (t|c) 20:55, 14 January 2007 (CST)
Not that many. I didn't go into the DD too often last run. Probably about a half-dozen DDs. Generally, at least one Locked Door has sprung a trap during similar usage, so I feed confident using the card. If something happens, I'll add the experience to this Wiki. Stickyhands 07:35, 15 January 2007 (CST)
I've been using it in the Daily Dungeon as well and have yet to trigger a trap. It has only been a few days so far, but normally I get hit by that trap all the time. I think it should be marked as never failing until someone posts a failure. Maikeruu 00:48, 25 July 2007 (CDT)
I've been using it ever since posting above and still have yet to trigger a trap. I think it is safe to say that it can not set them off until someone else posts proof of a failure. --Maikeruu 12:59, 25 December 2007 (CST)
re-usable?
It never says that it is or isn't, is it?
A) It implies that it is reuseable by saying "once a day" and "after that". B) It's an ultra rare. If you only got one shot out of it, it'd be a pretty crappy ultra rare. C) Sign your comments. --Wildfire393 00:24, 31 October 2007 (CDT)
What if you used it, gave it to someone else (your multi) then have it given back to you so would you be able to use it again? --Lemon-claw 16:26, 28 February 2008 (CST)
- Judging from the comment that you only get one use, even if you have multiple cards, I would expect there is some kind of a "Used a PYEC today" flag on your character that gets tripped when you use the card. So, no, you'll only be able to use it once even if you pass the card to someone else - the limitation is on your character, not the individual card. (This is the same kind of narrative oddity as how Healthy Green Glow will shift from one familiar to another when you change your active familiar.)--Terion 18:01, 10 April 2008 (CDT)
