Talk:Point at your opponent

From A KoL Wiki

If someone adds a redirect from YOROIDS to Point at your opponent, it would be intelligent to mention what YOROIDS actually stands for. --Mr Crac 18:30, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

  • Yes. Yes, it would. --TechSmurf 19:24, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
    • Something like a note in the References section was what I had in mind, because I'm lazy ;o) --Mr Crac 18:00, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
      • "Boobfairy" isn't explained on its page, and I think that's an even more cryptic name. I think leaving it on the Acronym page is fine. --Azeltir 18:49, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

YOROIDS may have a shorter cooldown if it fails on a boss (~50 adventures) --Scissors Lizards 14:57, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Major Red Ray Damage

I do not have a very large sample size (only 25 recorded damages at various weights). However, I think that the Major Red Ray damage formula is something very close to: 3-6*Weight. I'll post the data I have when I get more of it, and I'm more sure it fits. Unless someone else (or a group of someone elses) wants to beat me to it, and spade it out en masse a lot faster than I could do on my own. --MindlessGames 13:33, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

  • I have a bit more than 50 data points, and I'm fairly confident that it is indeed 3-6*Weight. I was waiting to see if I could get the extremes of the range (I got factors ranging from 3.02 to 5.88), but I stopped trying to get more data points because it's kind of a pain to do so. I think it could be added to the page already, but it'd be better if we could record the extremes. --Pcentella 15:50, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
  • I just observed an 8-pound Beholder do 51 damage with the major ray (it also gave 7 substats), versus a fiendish can of asparagus. So it would seem that the damage can go beyond 6*weight. --MindlessGames 11:12, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
    • Nevermind. I'm Wallaby sign. --MindlessGames 12:58, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

First Round Use

If you use this on the first round when you grab initiative, there is no combat message. I think it uses a random ray. I thought it might use the last message from the fight before, but I don't think it does. Does anyone know for sure? --Top1214 05:57, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Wardrobe mimicking

I've been wondering about this, and I finally just confirmed it - I was using a Stocking Mimic with the Wardrobe, and when it mimicked a boulder, I used the YOROIDS. On the next adventure, I switched to my actual boulder and tried using YOROIDS, and got the 'minor ray' message. Not sure where to put this though - Notes here, Notes on the Boulder page? --Kasanax 20:42, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

  • This is known. They use the same counter. --MindlessGames 21:15, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

Major yellow ray immunity

Ancient protector spirits are immune to major yellow rays. I guess they count as "bosses". --Vorzer 02:00, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

I just realized that CLEESH has a list of which monsters count as "bosses". Oh well. --Vorzer 02:07, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
