Talk:Pool Skill

From A KoL Wiki

Successfully got the key at 18 pool skill. --Kyrbis (talk) 12:33, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

  • Is that the skill that your Quest Log said you had (which doesn't include the effect of Drunkeness) or did you factor in your current amount of drunkeness at the time? If you didn't, what was your inebrity at the time? Since the game doesn't show the effect of drunkeness in the Quest page number, we can't know your actual skill if you don't mention your liver's state. (This is as much to anyone else giving data, not picking on Kyrbis.) --Terion (talk) 20:27, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Does a fuzzy montera help? Keeping in mind its description and enchantment. --Miguelius (talk) 01:38, 27 May 2014

  • Well, after it mentions Fuzzy the pool shark, it does say "that's not important right now." And it doesn't explicity have a +Pool Skill enchantment. However, I will try to check this in a future Moxie run (will be easier once we nail down the requirement for hustling the ghost, unless it's kind enough to reflect in the Quest page.) --Terion (talk) 20:27, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
  • Tried equipping one. No change in the quest log entry. --Vorzer (talk) 13:00, 31 May 2014 (UTC)

Currently the page says "This does not show in the Quest Tracker " for the semirare part of the skill. I am not sure I understand this. Your semirare part of skill is part of the number that shows up. It is true it doesn't show outside of the quest, but none of it does. I left the page as is since I am not sure I am understanding. But I think that line should go. --LotsOfPhil

I'm not sure whether I understand what you are asking/saying, but I think you are referring to a line in the Notes section. Is that correct? In Options --> Interface --> Character Pane Options, you can check "Display Quest Tracker in the Character Pane". If you are on the relevant quest, this will show you your pool skill, and to the extent of my knowledge, it is the only thing that will. I encountered Shark's Chum, chose Rack 'em up, and my... Wait. You're right. My skill level did go up one point. I'm not sure why I thought it didn't, but I was so sure about it.^Blargh (talk) 15:28, 29 May 2014 (UTC)^
It is definitely in there. My base skill is 10, from the SRs in past lives. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lotsofphil (talkcontribs) on 16:00, May 29, 2014

I tried to boost my pool skill for a while back in 2013. (Until I started getting annoyed by the constant "X challenged you to a game of pool" messages.) According to Mafia, I encountered A Shark's Chum a total of 17 times. I double-checked the log files; 17 times, and I picked "Rack 'em up" each time.

I'm currently at 0 drunkenness, and the new quest log entry says:

You have achieved a skill level of 8 at shooting pool.

Other people got +2? I apparently got +1/2. --Vorzer (talk) 13:00, 31 May 2014 (UTC)

Just for the record, Pool Skill from the SR is kept in BM. --JohnAnon (talk) 05:12, 4 July 2014 (UTC)

Trophy ?

I can confirm there is no trophy for having a pool skill "over 9000!!!" as I am at 9156 and no trophy :-(--Plater (t|c) 15:25, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
