Talk:Pufferfish spine
If there is a damage cap, it is extremely high. Testing against tower monsters, I was able to kill them (!) and the poison effect got up to 65536 damage.--GoldS 07:45, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
I don't quite understand how this item works. Does it only deal damage on the round you use it, or every round?--Brion thenotgiant 22:02, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- Every round. Haven't tried using multiple myself, but presumably the damage increases in subsequent rounds according to the formula on the page. --BagatelleT/C 00:25, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- This still isn't clear... is "number of spines used" cumulative? or does each turn's thrown spines cause additive damage? I.E. poison damage 2^("n from the first spine used"+"number of spines used the entire fight"-2) or 2^("n from round 1"+"number of spines used in round 1"-2)+2^("n from round 2"+"number of spines used in round 2"-2)+2^("n from round 3"+"number of spines used in round 3"-2)... etc. --Silent Knight 11:32, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
perhaps change it to 2^(n+m-2) where m is the number of spines used in all rounds of combat (if that is a correct assumption.) --Silent Knight 11:23, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
Just fought the gargantuchicken, and the spine didn't seem to work like the wiki describes it all the time. First it indeed was 2^(n-2), but as soon as it got to 1005 or 1006 it just increased by 1 each round, which is not what I expected at all. I had sleazeform active, but I don't think that's the cause of this behaviour. --Alibulibadaha 09:41, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
- That's a special ability of the gargantuchicken. It has all kinds of resistance to damage to force the player to kill it with bricko combat items. --Bale 10:10, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
The dosn't seem to be a damage cap, other than possibly a max int size, got some spines to do 46k damage to hodgman, which after factoring in his damage reduction the raw damage was 2^25 or 33,554,432 damage --Gorloth 00:16, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Screwing around with The Server Funkslinging 2 Pufferfish spines each round for 29 rounds causes "It takes 4.8357032784585E+24 damage from the pufferfish poison.". Damage starts going into notation. --Andyzero 07:27, 12 January 2013 (CET)
