Talk:Sauce Synergy

From A KoL Wiki

I'd like to work on an update of this page that works out using Saucemageddon instead of Geyser or maybe somebody else would be better at this?

Isn't one of the splash back effects used to set the spell flavor for latter spells for times when a foe does not have an elemental resistance, thus letting you always get the geyser mp without an offhand tome?

The effect you're thinking of is already mentioned; it adds damage for one of the elements, which will cause Immaculate Seasoning to kick in.
Using Saucestorm with 16 or more bonus spell damage will give you +11 of either Hot or Cold spell damage. Immaculate Seasoning will then cause the rest of the spells cast to align to whichever element the Storm splashback gives.
That only works with seasoning, of course. Oh, and if you're going to include Saucemageddon you should also include the full outfit effect, which drastically boosts the saucespheres. --Starwed 13:08, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

I had originally intended for the page to be how Saucerors use their spells in-run to glorious effect. I wouldn't really consider Saucemaggedon to be in-run, since you have to go way out of your way (do the nemesis quest) to get it. If you disagree and want to add it, go ahead, but I would request that you add it to a different section, apart from the main Wave/Geyser stuff. --RoyalTonberry 16:19, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Sure, I'd tack it on to the bottom, possibly as aftercore. It's clear to me that I don't fully understand the how and why of sauce work, but I've got plans to do 7 back to back sauce runs to get telescope parts, I'll learn the hard way. --Nightwind 292 23:50, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Saucestorm as part of the suite is marginal and/or debatable. It costs enough to make the overall combat unprofitable. Imp Unity Ring is usually a better alternative (insofar as an accessory is an alternative for an effect). Jackass takes a song slot but the combat is still profitable overall. --Stannius 00:25, 25 August 2011 (CEST)

Is it intentional that Chefstaves and Spirit of Rigatoni (or at least the special sauce glove) aren't mentioned here? Since there were 3 regular Chefstaves added that don't even require Pulverize, as well as Staff of the Soupbone and the early obtainable Staff of the November Jack-O-Lantern* farming efforts seem not as bad as they used to be to me. I'm not a big fan of spells as a damage source myself and therefore lack experience in that field, but being able to equip Chefstaves, which increase damage as well as regenerate MP, seems useful to me.
* I admit that it needs a certain iotm in hardcore, but the Bandersnatch is a iotm as well. --Yatsufusa 00:43, 12 October 2012 (CEST)

  • Chefstaves make it way too easy to kill the monster with Wave of Sauce. --Bale 03:37, 12 October 2012 (CEST)
