Talk:Schadenfreude
I'm not sure that the Avenue Q quote should be there. (Though it the adventure name might be a reference to Q, since it's certainly the first place I heard the word, and I took german.) Fixed it to be the correct quote in the meantime though.--Unreferencer 02:14, 28 February 2007 (CST)
- It isn't an Avenue Q reference, schadenfreude exists outside of the play. Although it would have been awesome if there was one. Crystallina 15:42, 28 February 2007 (CST)
Does this event cost you an adventure? --Tripwood 18:59, 28 February 2007 (CST)
Yes I believe it does, Also i'm not sure if it's always 4 adventures afterwards, I have waited up to 8 adventures afterwards. Maybe it's four combats? --Manial 05:36, 7 March 2007 (CST)
After discarding 3 peels and adventuring I got my first schadenfruede adeventure within 5 turns. I adventured for another 40 or so without schadenfruede being triggerd. I then discarded a 4th schadenfruede and within 10 adventures I had recieved a 2nd schadenfruede adventure. So, I imagine that each time you discard any number of peels you will only get one schadenfruede untill you discard again. I'm not sure I'm saying this right, it makes sense in my head.....--Devdogg 14:48, 6 March 2007 (CST)
I understand what you're saying. so basically, you don't get 1 schandenfruede for every peel you discard, but you actually get 1 schandenfruede every time a peel is used, no matter how many peels you use before that 1 schandenfruede... However, you only did that using 3 peels... you might consider doing some more trials...--CG1:t,c,e 17:37, 6 March 2007 (CST)
It's easiest to think of this as setting a boolean flag (for example, CanGetSchadenfreude = true or false). The flag is set by using a peel (additional peels have no effect) then later the flag is cleared by getting this adventure. There are other things in KoL that work this way, but I can't remember a good example. --Crowther 11:29, 7 March 2007 (CST)
- Rotting_Matilda is another one that works like this. Froodian 19:44, 7 March 2007 (CST)
Doesn't always happen from a banana peel?
is it possible that the adventure occurs depends on moxie? because I used a banana peel, and I don't think this adventure has come up yet... --CG1:t,c,e 17:32, 7 March 2007 (CST)
- I'm not getting this adventure either. I'm a level 24 seal clubber (going for level 30), so moxie could be related. Lostcalpolydude 23:26, 7 March 2007 (CST)
- Not really, no; my level 42 AT multi got it several times with no issues. However, it doesn't seem to be consistently on the 4th adventure either; maybe choice adventures or non-combats don't count?--Salien 00:32, 8 March 2007 (CST)
- non-combats definitely count, i got three clovering in the bathroom. my recollection was it was every fifth turn. ie i'd use a schadenfreude and then after four clover adventures i'd get a special schadenfreude page. which, bizarrely, was entirely blank. i still got my smurf, though, so nothing was lost. --Evilkolbot 11:53, 8 March 2007 (CST)
- I've waited about 30 adventures (it's been over 100 adventures since using my first banana peel) and I haven't had this adventure. I have used four banana peels total, waiting about 40 adventures between each one, and the trophy still isn't available, so I didn't miss the adventures somehow either. I just haven't had them. Lostcalpolydude 00:10, 9 March 2007 (CST)
I had the same dillema, and it was driving me crazy... I USED a banana peel in combat and then hoped for a special adventure. But you have to DISCARD the banana peel from the inventory menu to receive the special adventure. --Holler 12:54, 10 March 2007 (CST)
I found that the adventure does not trigger at the Icy Peak, but does trigger at the Hippy Camp. --Shenanegins 16:51, 3 May 2007 (CDT)
Rollover
- Do you still get this adventure after rollover, when you discarded a banana peel before rollover? --jeremypv 02:55, 31 August 2007 (CDT)
-confirmed! after rollover you will get this adventure when you discarded a banana peel before rollover --jeremypv 23:29, 31 August 2007 (CDT)
