How many of these item exist in the game currently?

I think there are actually 5, I know of a clan that owns one and uses it for PvP, or at least did, and I think one more is floating around in an inventory somewhere.

I actually think 6. There were those original 3, but someone found an item dupe bug a while ago and this was the rarest item they could get their hands on that it would work with. They made a few dupes, sold one, lent one out, and still hold another. I'm not sure if that's correct though. It's almost certainly 5 or 6 though. Pat McRotch
