Talk:Sinister Cave Room 3
When inserting a super-spiky hair gel as a Sauceror: You attempt to put your super-spiky hair gel in the hole, but an invisible forcefield stops you. You wonder briefly why whoever set up these doors bothered to prevent you from fruitlessly throwing away your items... I guess they just didn't want people using this place as a garbage dump? Assuming this used to be an ancient temple or something, that seems like a reasonable concern. (Hey, I figured it was the gel, I mean, the first one is spiky hair, the second is gel-like, and it comes in a tin, right?) --Jimfromtx 04:26, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Correct item as a Sauceror: You drop your tomato juice of powerful power into the hole, and the stone slab grinds slowly upward and out of sight, revealing a large cavern. A large cavern with multiple figures moving around inside it. Which is perfect, because you were starting to get sick of this puzzly nonsense, and could really use a regular old fight right about now. --Jimfromtx 04:27, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Wrong item as a Disco Bandit: You attempt to put your vodka stratocaster in the hole, but an invisible forcefield stops you. You wonder briefly why whoever set up these doors bothered to prevent you from fruitlessly throwing away your items... I guess they just didn't want people using this place as a garbage dump? Assuming this used to be an ancient temple or something, that seems like a reasonable concern. MrINBN 04:34, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm an AT. Needed a combination of 3 buffs. What worked for me was Aria of Annoyance, Phat Loot, and Polka. Edit: possibly did not need Aria. Journe 04:39, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- It's almost certainly Polka-only, as the other 5 classes need their level 5 crafting skill. Level 5 buff for ATs is Polka.--Toffile 05:22, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
I believe the Disco Bandit test requires only a fruity girl drink; I inserted (I believe) a Pink Pony and got in.
- Any of the fruity girl drinks will work for the Disco Bandit. I inserted an a little sump'm sump'm. I'm not sure about tropical swill, fruity girl swill, blended frozen swill, and bungle in the jungle, though.--Firiona 06:53, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
The required items to pass door 3 are based on the lv 5 skills of the respective classes. I know the DB challenge has been passed with fuzzbump, little sump'm sump'm, rockin wagon, etc. So I believe the page can be more generalized to items made with the specific skills and for ATs simply being buffed with Polka. --Spiny Twizzler 08:03, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
As a DB, door 3 would NOT open for a fruity girl swill and did for a rockin' wagon. Maybe it has to be an Advanced Cocktailcrafting drink that gives Moxie as its primary stat? Someone please spade this! --Sbiedkol 20:25, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Door 3 opened for me using a roll in the hay which does not give any moxie. --Deneri 16:13, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
Well, I guess I was wrong... other bucklers won't work for the 3rd door as a TT. Maybe the DBs got lucky, or maybe they changed it since it rolled out, not sure. --Spiny Twizzler 09:02, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Ah, okay. I'll change the text to reflect that. --MrINBN 09:29, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Just for kicks, I tried all 12 SHC Extra-Fruity drinks in the DB 3rd door; as expected, none of them got past the forcefield. For the Fruity girl drinks, I tried all three garnished Tavern swills and also the pumpkin beer, and none of them worked either. In HC, I don't have a bungle to try, but I'd doubt it will work. It seems a safe bet that the door wants one of the twelve "classic" AC drinks. I happened to use a perpendicular hula to pass door 3. --Terion 06:47, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
As a Disco Bandit, just tried a Horizontal Tango and can confirm it works.--Skythe 11:31, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
