Talk:Smudged alchemical recipe
I have personally confirmed you can get multiples of these per day--Gnrfan1976 01:07, 10 January 2007 (CST)gnrfan1976
So does it mean 5 rounds of combat, like your 5 next attacks? Or is it 5 adventures? Jimfromtx --Jimfromtx 04:14, 10 January 2007 (CST)
As it's implied that it gives you a random Way of Sauce potion EFFECT, I would presume it to be 5 adventures. --'Ivan 04:48, 10 January 2007 (CST)- This is invalid now. Not sure who made edited the page so that it was implied that the effect was given, instead of an actual potion that can be used at will. --'Ivan 01:13, 11 January 2007 (CST)
Question, does Impetuous Sauciness work with this? --Andy00 06:15, 10 January 2007 (CST)
- I would have to guess yes. I haven't tried it yet, but since you actually get the potion, there's no reason that using the potion shouldn't double it's length.--Toffile 13:04, 10 January 2007 (CST)
Can it give cologne of contempt (which otherwise can only be made using dill, a Spectral Pickle Factory drop)? --Quietust (t|c) 13:09, 10 January 2007 (CST)
- Yes, cologne of contempt is gettable this way, as are Ferrigno's Elixir of Power and Hawking's Elixir of Brilliance. On a side note, you do not always loose 10hp when using it, so far out of three attempts I have lost 10hp twice and none on the third. --Klaithe 12:20, 18 January 2007 (CST)
does the nigh stuff refer to the tick, with nigh invulnerability?--Argus 18:36, 10 January 2007 (CST)
- No. --sl1me 19:14, 10 January 2007 (CST)
- "Nigh" is simply an archaic word meaning "near". --Greycat 17:48, 25 January 2007 (CST)
Possibly might the use message refer to the fact that in NetHack there's a 1 in 10 chance of an alchemical blast when combining potions via alchemy? They've referred to practically everything else in that game... --Jimfromtx 10:37, 18 January 2007 (CST)

All potions drop, and damage seems to be about half the time. --TechSmurf 18:16, 25 April 2007 (CDT)
I rang Harold's bell and used every opportunity to pickpocket Very Mad Scientists, and all I got for it was knob goblin seltzers and scrumptious reagents. Is this still a pickpocket item? --Treefrog 10:40, 3 June 2008 (CDT)
- Expected number of turns under 5% success rate is 20, and the bell only gives you 19. --Bagatelle 21:56, 3 June 2008 (CDT)
Clarity: Access Means What?
When it says "you must have access to the lab," does that mean having the key is sufficient, or do you have to be dressed up as an Elite Guard? Please clarify on the page. --Kilyle 08:09, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- The recipe can only be acquired by pickpocketing. That means fighting. If dressed as an elite guard, you cannot fight in the lab. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 04:00, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- The purpose of the "access" limit is to keep low level characters from using it. Same thing with 31337 scroll, and a few other things in the game. (I have an unascended account with an old 31337 scroll that character can not use.) --Club (#66669) (Talk) 04:07, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
