Talk:Spices

From A KoL Wiki
  • Can't the spices also be gotten from the barrel of Barrels?
  • To whoever made the note that Spices decrease the monster level: Did you even check? Because from what i've tested, i see no change at all after many Spice-attacks. Are you just assuming it does so based on the wincing message? - Kitti

It certainly isn't a "heavy" de-leveler, if any. No detectable change was found even after 20 shakes. --Yehman 15:36, 23 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)

In my testing (fighting reindeer at the Toy Factory), Spices had no visible effect, while plot holes did. ClockWise 12:51, 27 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)

you lot say no noticable effect? well when i first entered the penultimate airship the megatech things killed me in a couple of hits and i could kill them. using spices stopped them from hitting me and enabled me to hit them, i also used spices in the hole in the sky and the giant castle with simliar effects. --Orangatuan 18:24 26 March 2006 (Greenich Median Time)

  • It could just be that you were having bad RNG luck before you used them. I and others have tested them a lot, and we can see no difference. RNG is funny sometimes --Kitti 01:55, 28 March 2006 (CST)

hmm... when did spices start being lost in combat? i just used some in combat and they went away after being used! perhaps this is a peeculiarity of my having been in spookyform? --Cameron 21:35, 24 August 2006 (CDT)

Spice-finding strategy?

So now that clovering for spices isn't practical, has anyone found out the most efficient way of getting spices? Should I fish in the sewer, adventure in the spooky forest, go for the Kitchens? --Lumire 19:59, 9 June 2007 (CDT)

  • Kitchen. The sewer is just a crapshot. Same with the forest. In the kitchen, there's only two monster, and one of them drops spices. Boost your item drops and you should be able to get plenty. --TechSmurf 20:05, 9 June 2007 (CDT)

Spice Damage?

Possibly with NS13, spices have had their damage reduced. I've been funkslinging them for most of the beginning of this ascension for quick damage, and now I have yet to see damage higher than 1 each.--Creamy 23:17, 25 June 2007 (CDT)

The Dune Reference?

  • Any particular reason the Dune reference isn't on this page? Are we just assuming that it's too obvious to bother with? --Cactuscat 09:27, 20 October 2007 (CDT)
    • the obvious answer is "because there's no reference" but, reading it again that would be wrong. go ahead and add it. --Evilkolbot 09:55, 20 October 2007 (CDT)

Toot Revamp

With the new Toot Oriole, several of the basic items have changed, including Spices. Currently the page has starting/ascending as a Sauceror for a way to obtain Spices, as well as from the "Three-tined fork" adventure in the spooky forest. Can someone confirm or deny that Spices are still received when ascending and/or the adventure?--Rottingflesh 09:18, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

Can someone who knows what they are doing check the zapping info? It seems to contain the starting class equipment. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cloud420 (talkcontribs) on 22:31, 2013 April 3

  • Well, I tried a bunch of zaps today. Spices still zap to starting equipment, but I was unable to get starting equipment to zap to spices. That's not saying it doesn't happen, since there are a lot of items in that zap group, so a bigger sample is needed. But the "zap to starting equipment" part is pretty compelling evidence that other equipment will zap back. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 06:28, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
