Talk:Spookyraven Manor
While I'm going to wait for the 48 hours to reveal the major spoiler, I can point out that the whole dissecated animal blood/planks factor is indeed just a rumour. --Caera the Cute 07:14, 21 September 2006 (CDT)
I think there might be more than 6 potential books in the Library. There's the Rise and Fall books, which I don't think ever appear together. There's one that has three stat boosting choices, one that's yoga, one that's about demonic vacations, and one last one. There's also one that gives you cooking recipes and one that gives what I believe are cocktail recipes.
Has anyone unlocked the Library or Gallery yet? If so, how? (I seem to have unlocked the Conservatory, but damn if I have no clue how I did it.) --Emtu 00:33, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
Well, I cannot help but notice the striking similarity between the manor and the locations in the game Clue. I think the key may be in one of the other places...Also, I notice that there are multiple pool balls that one can collect. That could also be a key...
--PhantomTrogdor 00:42, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
- The whole thing is a reference to the works of Edgar Allen Poe, specifically "The Raven". I get "Pet Semetary" vibes from one of them though. Evan 00:51, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
- The gallery gives me the impression of Resident Evil games, in the sense that it tells you you'll "probably be required to solve some ridiculous puzzle in order to find the key" --Linkman95 00:37, 21 September 2006 (CDT)
- This may also be a reference to Luigi's Mansion in which Luigi wins a Haunted Mansion full of ghosts and has to find keys to unlock rooms.
- And/or a reference to the raven in Poe's famous poem. (Why choose?)
Well, the Clue board game had secret tunnels in the corners... still looking for them... --DataVortex 00:44, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
-Get pool cue -Play pool with ghost -Let him go first -I forget how I played the game against him, but it ended up giving me a key to the library -Adventure in the library until you've read the books, specifically the book about Spookyraven Manor, the second part -Adventure in the conservatory until you find the key -You now can access the gallery --Verfanor 00:54, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
To play pool with ghost: Equip cue and adventure in Haunted Billiards Room. --Emtu 00:59, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
I was able to get on using my level 11 main account, but can't with one of my level 9 multies. I'll test a few of the others. --MistressTera 01:13, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
If anyone finds info on when this can be unlocked, please edit The Haunted Pantry as well. Kenpo karate boy 01:19, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
A few more details before I head off to bed: My main, MistressTera (#857437) and my HC multi, TrialByFire (#905240), were both able to get in at Level 11, and both were Pastamancers. My other three, FastTrackToSuccess (#969178, Level 11 Sub-Apprentice Accordion Thief), IsabeaGudmassa (#958752, Level 17, Seal Clubber) & Malachi (#931860, Level 9, Basillusionist) weren't able to get in. Only MistressTera is wearing different gear from what she was when she got into the Manor, as I just ascended with her. --MistressTera 01:26, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
I don't think it's that high-level an area, since I could easily kill the enemies in the kitchen by doing 5 damage to them, so it wouldn't make sense to have it not unlock until level 11. On another topic - are you sure you're not misunderstanding "zones"? I suspect the Spookyraven manor is one zone with associated sub-areas, and the individual rooms are not themselves five of the eight "zones". - The Wrassedragon 01:27, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
My main (lvl 8 DB, HCO) is in, and has both keys already. Looks like its just more reason to hate the RNG for some people. --Verfanor 01:28, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
Hm, new outfit in the gallery. Also a violet-fog-esque area containg Manetwich and a bottle of Vangoghitussin, possibly more. Also, use the disintegrating quill with an inkwell and a tattered bit of paper to get a fun scroll. --Jayzabala 02:13, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
Spooky Keys
Found Library Key in Billards room
- Have Chalky Hands (from dust) - Equip Pool Cue - Let him break - Solids - 8 ball
Found Gallery Key in Conservatory
- Adventure in Library until you can read books - Read the second chapter of The Fall of the House of Spookyraven - Adventure in the Conservatory ( I found the key immediately )
~Seram
The book says the manor has 8 rooms so this probably is the 8 new zones --Danie tei 02:26, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
- Note that there are six books to choose from, and you only see 3 at a time... specifically, you need to read the second chapter of "The Fall of the House of Spookyraven". Phlip 02:29, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
I just managed to get the THIRD chapter thereof, and it mentions an "otherdimensional portal" ... probably the eighth zone?--Bork 08:31, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
- Nah, Chapter 2 of Rise says it's an 8-room manor... and besides, you do get to open a portal, by reading Chapter 2 of Love Story, and all you get is 75 Mys. Phlip 08:38, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
- The pantry was a zone already, and if the house has 8 rooms, one of which already existed.... --Changling bob 11:41, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
- On the other-other-other hand, perhaps the Conservatory isn't considered a "room". Of course, this is all speculation. We should probably work on getting up to that attic. --Buttons 11:51, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
- Been there. Ther's a bedroom, a bathroom, and a ballroom. I guess there's no "portal to the last zone" thing, after all. Bummer.--Bork 10:05, 21 September 2006 (CDT)

Items
These items dropped for me in the Library. Can someone please template-ize them as I don't know how.
- Disintegrating quill pen
- Tattered scrap of paper
- Inkwell
- Scroll of ancient forbidden unspeakable evil
Ta. Psychade 08:13, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
There's also the snifter of thoroughly aged brandy. I've given it a whirl, but there's plenty that needs to be fixed up by the more experienced.--Buckley 08:40, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
- Here's another one i found: bottle of Vangoghbitussin (gallery, Love or leave it adventure (or of simmilar name), enter picture, keep going up the stairs)
desc: It's the sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, cut off your ear to give to a prostitute medicine. It's good for what ails you, so long as that doesn't include a severed ear. Type: usable Selling Price: 115 Meat.
use: You drink the entire bottle of Vangoghbitussin. The post-impression left on you, post-consumption, is like woah. You gain 100 hit points. You gain 100 Muscularity Points. You acquire an effect: The 'Tussin (desc. Well, that stuff was good for what ailed you, but now you've got a buzz bigger than a beehive.) (duration: 5 Adventures) --RPGMarker35 15:39, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
Area map?
Anyone got a screenshot of the actual map for this area (similar to The Gnomish Gnomads' Camp, The Copse of the Deep Fat Friars, Crimbo Town, Somewhere Over the Beanstalk, etc.)?
Snarfblat Probe
See Areas by Number for what snarfblat is.

This tells me all eight areas are in the manor, and the the dev team thought of people doing this sort of probe. :^) --Club 14:42, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
First-Adventure Manor
Just to let you all know i got the door way to the spookyraven my first adventure in my latest run, so i dont think there is a requirement. only think i did before it put on my class hat and open the letter from the king, then i went to the pantry --LoA 15:28, 21 September 2006 (CDT)
Same as above. Has anyone else gotten this the first adventure of their new ascension? It may be programmed in so as not to annoy ascenders who don't want to spend a million adventures in the pantry waiting for the Manor --Killerrabbit 17:11, 6 October 2006 (CDT)User:Killerrabbit
Location Rename
Seems like this location should be renamed to Spookyraven Manor (First Floor), while perhaps also renaming Spookyraven Manor, Second Floor to Spookyraven Manor (Second Floor). Thoughts?--Gymnosophist 10:08, 21 September 2006 (CDT)
- That wouldn't match the in-game names. See the snarfblat descriptions directly above. --Jonrock 10:56, 21 September 2006 (CDT)
- I concur with Jonrock; better to match the in-game names, IMO.--Bork 10:56, 21 September 2006 (CDT)
Clue
I agree entirely that this resembles clue a lot. There may be secret passageways from one place to another. --Kurian 20:09, 21 September 2006 (CDT)
Mini-quest?
In the Oct 03 update of KoL it said there was a new mini-quest to be found in the Manor. Anyone found anything like a mini-quest or have any such info?
- Fight in the bedroom till you get the half a memo drop. Read it, I think?, then go to the Misspelled C, for a one time fight per acension. If you win you get a pretty strong 1 hd myst weapon, the Tiny Shrimp fork, if you lose you will have another shot after roll over like the Mimic.--Practitioner of Saucy Arts 12:04, 5 October 2006 (CDT)
- In the misspelled cemetary the encounter is "You're fighting Skelter Butleton, the Butler Skeleton" and he drops the shrimp fork --Plater 12:54, 5 October 2006 (CDT)
- I suspect, having seen said item in the Mall, that it is the end of said quest - it's a pretty nice item, all things considered. Not "uber", but, nice nonetheless. --Bork 18:58, 5 October 2006 (CDT)
- Thanks to all of you guys for the info and help. I am eternally in your debt and grateful.

New content?
Has anyone found or know any new items/encounter/new info added to the Manor in Nov 07 update? Armuk 08:55, 8 November 2006 (CST)
On the 29th of May, 2008 Jick answered a question on his radio show about the room above the second floor of the manor and confirmed there IS a third level and he was surprised that no one has found it yet. Most likely it has something to do with and adventure on the the second floor, but could also lead back to the "louvre it or leave it" adventure in the haunted gallery (anyone who knows what the louvre adventure is knows what I mean). You may need to equip spookyravens glasses whilst doing previously mentioned adventure to unlock some super duper secret thing. Ironcheff 07:58, 2 June 2008 (CDT)
Revamp stuff
"No entry" texts:
Kitchen: You approach the open door to the kitchen, but before you can enter, there is an ear-splitting screech and the door slams shut in front of you.
Hmm. Apparently somebody doesn't want you going in there.
Conservatory: You try to open the screen door to the conservatory, but an unseen force pushes on the door exactly as hard as you're pulling on it.
For every action, there is a spooky and opposite reaction.
Billiards Room: The door to the billiards room is locked.
Library: The door to the library is locked.
Stairs: You get halfway up the flight of stairs when an unseen force pushes you back down them. Thanks a lot for your help, unseen force!
You lose 1 hit point.

Taking the stairs after giving Lady Spookyraven her necklace: As you mount the stairs, you hear Lady Spookyraven clear her ghost throat from somewhere upstairs, out of sight.
"You're not finished down there yet."
