Familiar

So the cryptic comment means that there's general speculation about whether it's a familiar or simply a usable item in certain quantities? --Hughdo 23:35, 29 June 2011 (CEST)

When trying to use two of them, I get this response: That item isn't usable in quantity. So that theory, at least, seems to be null.--Amilianna 16:54, 30 June 2011 (CEST)

In the dawn of the game there was no use-multiple and everything just had a single [use] link. After much bitching and moaning the rolling pin and unrolling pin were made to allow flat dough to be created in bulk. Later "use multiple" was introduced and most items that could be meaningfully used in large quantities were coded to usable thusly. The two forms of dough are still not. If you try to use two doughs you get "That item isn't usable in quantity." The same message applies to any item that has not been coded into use multiple. It doesn't imply anything about how it might be usable in the future. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 00:05, 1 July 2011 (CEST)

You put the squirming egg sac in your Familiar-Gro™ Terrarium.

It bursts open, sending tiny glowing blue spiders in every direction. One of them spins a strange, symmetrical web in the corner and makes himself at home.

Some stuff the dataspider does:

<Name> bites him and there's a flash as his appearance changes dramatically. That can't be a good sign. (Causes monster's image to change)

<Name> blinks out of existence for a moment. Your opponent winces, suffering X damage from some strange, unseen wound. <Name> reappears at your side, crackling with energy.

You gain X Mana Points.

Sorry if this isn't the appropriate place to put this information, I'm not sure where else it's supposed to go.
