Talk:Stick-on eyebrow piercing
Some random findings: 1) Seems to prevent attacks 100% of the time, or 0% of the time, so no RNG involved. 2) Seems to prevent attacks whenever your moxie is similar to or higher than the monster's level. At -5, attacks were still blocked. At -10, no attacks were blocked. Fine-tuning is needed. 3) There does not seem to be any particular relation between monster level or moxie/ML differential and charges (but my sample size is far too small to be certain). I'm out of piercings, so I'm done testing for now. --Crawly2 13:18, 7 April 2008 (CDT)
I'm currently fighting the ordinary ducks in McMillicancuddy's Barn, with a buffed Moxie of 167 (141 base). The monster level for the ordinary duck is listed as 166. The ducks only attacked twice, but only one of those was blocked. Perhaps there is some RNG. --Olaf the Hungry 00:35, 6 August 2008 (CDT)
- There's some variance in ML. Were both the blocked and unblocked hits from the same individual duck? ... Never mind, you're not likely to remember this long afterward. Still, it's something to consider. --Pastangum 07:14, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
The information on the page and the associated spading thread from AfH both indicate that blocking didn't occur until your moxie was 9 or less than the monster's attack. When testing the block rate, however, it didn't start blocking until I was over the monster's attack. Against bunnies with +20 ML (21 Monster attack, no variance in ML):
Moxie | Blocked? |
---|---|
20 | Nope! |
21 | Nope! |
22 | Nope! |
23 | Nope! |
24 | Yep! |
25 | Yep! |
29 | Yep! |
30 | Yep! |
31 | Yep! |
33 | Yep! |
35 | Yep! |
Against bunnies with +9 ML (10 monster attack):
Moxie | Blocked? |
---|---|
12 | Nope! |
13 | Yep! |
15 | Yep! |
19 | Yep! |
20 | Yep! |
21 | Yep! |
Now it isn't blocking till I'm at least 3 Moxie over the monster's attack. Strange.
Also, blocks before breaking: 5, 3, 3, 5, 3, 4, 5, 4, 4, 5, 4, 3, 5, 4, 4, 3, 4, 3. --TechSmurf 09:01, 3 August 2012 (CEST)
